There's no going back. The effect you are speaking of is novelty, once it wears off its gone unless you take a long break. When I first got into anime/manga it was all so fresh and different, but once you get used to the tropes it certainly gets stale.

Maybe check out some other foreign media such as K-dramas or Bollywood. Its not cute like anime but you might get that same feeling learning about a new culture.
