VN translations have been quite active as of late.

We have a few super groups that have developed this past year or two, such as Witch Hunt, Yandere, and Ixrec who get huge amounts of stuff done quickly, and then many other active translations. TLwiki used to have rather limited activity, but nowadays you will see 50 to 100 edits daily. On top of that, we now have a new project popping up every other week or so.

On top of the fan translation scene, we now have two legit companies releasing stuff regularly and both have big titles announced, with MangaGamer doing a release every other month or so and Jast picking up their pace as of recently.

I don't really know why, but I somewhat trust the TLWiki guys to make sure that shit doesn't get censored, and if it does get censored I somehow trust them to make a "correction/uncensor patch" inorder to make things right.

There are quite a lot of great things currently being translated. Sharin, G-Senjou, Sumaga, YU-NO, Little Busters!, Remember11, Inganock, Togainu no Chi, Higurashi, etc. Though not much has come out as of yet. I think you're just being really picky, though.

Personally however, I have looked forward to Sumaga since before it was released in Japan and they said that they were probably going to be done this year and the TLWiki page was updated with "10 months since the beginning, now nearing the 500th file" recently which goes along fine with their plan to be done this year, the thing is only that even if they will be done this year, when will it be released?
So far Jast have only mentioned Demonbane and Jingai Makyou and I am not sure if they are going to release titles at a higher frequency just because they can ;_;
