IIDX, either WAR GAME, (This is Not) The Angels, or Theory. The original Watch Out! is also a pretty good choice

my friends are nogs/have nog-tier music taste, so the above mentioned songs apply here as well.

>>34058983
a lot of songs from earlier styles are either charted like shit, or rated completely wrong, or both. Just avoid songs from anything older than DistorteD when you're starting out, they all have some sort of fuck-you-now-you-die bullshit part right at the end that is there just to bring your gauge below 80%.

It's ok if your monitor supports BFI with a 60 FPS signal, at the expense of adding a little bit of latency (or a lot if your monitor is shit). If you're playing a game with visual offset options, it's probably worth trying. Or you can just use a CRT to get low persistence and low latency at the same time.

>> No.34093579

I've been looking into getting an LG BX and yeah its rough that input lag is about 26ms with BFI.

That input lag isn't amazing, but Bemani should still be well playable if you're running the games at 120hz.

In theory. You can use this to get an idea:
https://www.testufo.com/blackframes
Some emulators offer BFI as well if you want something more hands-on.

>> No.34094673

>>34094459
PENDUAL generation cabinets were kinda notorious for their latency. Those monitors were the reason the HD* setting was created.

>> No.34094739

>>34094519
BFI usually has longer persistence than strobing, since the strobe duration can be shorter than the frame duration. On the other hand, strobing has a tendency to have crosstalk problems, especially at higher frame rates.

If I had to choose between 120 FPS and 60 FPS BFI, I'd probably just go with 120. If you have a 240 Hz monitor that supports 120 FPS BFI, then more power to you.
