I was just thinking about her yesterday.
Imagine liking Komachi. I'm not even being rude, but imagine this.
You LIKE the Grim Reaper. That's basically what she is. She's a ferryman, but a shinigami on top of that. Imagine having a smile on your face and hugging the Grim Reaper the moment you see them. It's uncanny.

Komachi is not a reaper. She's explicit about this in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody.
She is only a ferryman. Her job is not to attack mortals and claim their souls, that is a whole other department in the Ministry of Right and Wrong. She is closer to Charon than the Grim Reaper (in fact Charon is probably a very real peer of hers, working on the Styx River instead of the Sanzu River).

Not them but her depiction in that manga is just lovely. It's non-canon, but it goes nicely with her personality in the games where she casually talks about suicide and death. She's around death enough that it's a casual topic for her, but since she talks and listens to the stories of the departed, it gave her a bit of sentimentality about it too since she's always hearing the good and bad things about peoples' lives.

It really goes against her personality in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody though, where beyond casualness, she is completely indifferent to death and views mortals fearing it as foolish. She does not have any desire to save mortals, or prevent their deaths; their deaths are an inevitability.
(If you believe the Death Note reference she even sees their lifespan clicking down in real time.)

Yeah, it's cute. Orin is also another atai user, plus there was another from th98 (old Marisa??? Or was it Yumemi?). There's even a gag where atai users have their own faction, and they kinda dislike Cirno for making them all seem childish and dumb.

Ah, cherry pop goddess... She leaves no spirit unsatisfied before letting them pass on! That's one heavy regret that makes them very unhappy, and she knows how to deal with it!
