/jp/, I don't understand maid cafes. Their market is pretty much people who try to avoid human interaction as much as possible. Why are otaku willing to go to maid cafes? I can't see myself ever going to one. It would be too fucking embarrassing.

>> No.3384281 [DELETED]

I'd go a robot maid cafe.

Too bad they don't have that yet.

>> No.3384283

well thats because you know they arnt real people working in them.

>> No.3384278

I'd love to go to one

I'd like to go to a tsundere maid cafe.

Maybe also with glasses...

I would pay a lot of money to go to a tsundere maid cafe.

Too bad maid cafes will NEVER succeed in the west.

It really really sucks.

Then why don't you book a ticket to Japan and go to one? I know at least one exists

>> No.3384321

I'd go to one, even if the food sucked. Plus I wouldn't get embarrassed since they're only lowly maids.

>> No.3384322

>>3384300

Who cares if they succeed in the west, we can always go to one when we all eventually move to Japan. ;_;

>> No.3384347

To all the people saying "I'd go to one", WHY do you want to go to one? Most of you are people who generally avoid human contact, get nervous around other people (especially girls), etc., right? So why would you be okay with a maid cafe?

>> No.3384362

>>3384347
I usually avoid human contact, but only because they're generally uninteresting. I'm not nervous either.

I don't get nervous around other people, I just don't like being near them, they're usually boring. I actually prefer being with girls rather than other males, I get along with them better.

Normalfags. The people who go to maid cafes in Japan are faux-otaku normalfags too. You're not going to find any hikkis in a maid cafe.

I'm sitting around naked, haven't showered in a good few days, and haven't left the house for over a month, but thanks for the compliment I guess.

Otaku, hikikomori, and NEET are entirely separate concepts, even if they do have a substantial degree of crossover. Many people who go to maid cafes are not otaku, yes, and most hikikomori wouldn't have the will to leave home to go to one, but that does not mean otaku do not go to them at all.

>> No.3384423

Plenty of normalfags go to maid cafes. Read a bit of Patrick Macias' blog.

>> No.3384491

I'm in the same boat as OP. I pass in front of them pretty often and the maids are all out there doing their best to attract customers. I feel sorry for them somewhat but I'm not about to be the one who goes into one. Especially since I'm a pig-disgusting foreigner and feel self-conscious enough in doujin shops as it is.

Also, even though I appreciate the spirit of the institution.... 3D?

Are there maid cafes near/around Boston?

Well not that I would go anyway since I don't know anyone...going alone would be embarrassing...
