Sure, she might be INTP since she seems to just spend lots of time studying magic for it's own sake but there are a noticeable number of books in her library that are grimoires she's written iirc and the events in SSiB have her being quite practical applying theories about spacetravel that require drawing conclusions from limited information.
Overall I get the impression she studies magic with more of a "what can I do with this" attitude than the general knowledge seeking that I associate with INTP.

Flipping through some comments made by INTPs on sites, it's sort of alarming how directionless most of them are. Many of them seem unsatisfied with their job, or drift from job to job just because they can't stick with a single one. Perhaps but without more detailed knowledge of the person's life it's too early to make that call. The best way to help such a person is to provide work for them, thereby getting them to earn the money they receive. If they refuse, it'd be easier to say that they only want "free" lunches but there may yet be circumstances that we do not know.
