Replayed SD for the second time. Now I can say it's N+C's strongest work easily.
I know people seem to agree that only Fujieda's route mattered in the end, but imho without the other routes the in-game world would feel more flat and they all added up their pieces to the puzzle. Dmmd this is not.
My route rankings:Fujieda>Rei>Taku>Madarame, in terms of characters:Towa>Fujieda=Rei>Taku>Madarame.

I liked him because his connection to Towa felt much more interesting compared to Taku or Scat. Towa made him realize he's attracted to men and also made him addicted to sweets, as well as their reunion turning out to be a dick-cutting situation was an interesting twist. His interactions with Towa, romantic or not, had a good balance between silly and serious, which is my weakness. And I can't help but respect Rei for starting to change on his own rather than relying on Towa, who just sped up things for him.
His sexuality and gener confusion subplots were handled great and they tied nicely with family drama. His ending also reminded me of Motomi's, which is probably why I liked it so much.
I think the lack of connection towards Towa's past works well with his own "the past doesn't matter, it's the future that counts" route conclusion.

Ending 3: They don't fuck but the robot-brother is kept around and they create a co-dependency relationship where Sumi keeps feeding him blood to keep him alive
Ending 2: Robot-Haru kills Sumi as his request and it's taken by the government and it's implied the program is going to be re-purposed for the military
Ending 1: Robot-Haru refuses to kill Sumi, Sumi confesses he always loved him and Robot Haru pretty much "becomes" his brother. They have a heart and heart talk and then Robot-Haru dies. Years later Sumi is shown being fine but he still keep in touch with Robot-Haru who now resides in his cellphone
Ending 0: Basically an AU route where Haru doesn't die but gets injured, but forgets about his brother. It explores heavily the relationship between the brothers and in the end they become lovers.
Extra route: Some weird pov from Haru's pov where you see how much messed up was his mind and he knew Sumi was obsessed with him. A bit of a psycho. It's implied his soul reside in the Robot-Haru hence why the robot kept getting dreams?

Ending 1 felt more like his true ending because it has the ending credits and everything and resolves the issue about the brothers, but ending 0 has a bunch of new CG/NPCs/Drama in a way it also felt like a true route as well.


The story feels weird inconclusive like the whole "true purpose" of Happiness is never addressed, Haru seems to get away his co-dependency in ending 1, but he still leans on his phone to see his brother ending 0 pretty much ends after the talk with the ex-girlfriend despite it setting up some drama with the school football team and a future date between the brothers as a pay off Ending 0 was interesting I guess to show how much messed up was Haru and he always loved his brother too, but I'm not quite sure I got what it was trying to say at the very ending.

Overall it's a nice game if you want to spend 4 hours and like incest, tragically the pay off is a bit flat and inconclusive and there is no sex, just some minor kissing and petting. Also the translation is kinda bad at times.
