ukka and bassho are still relatively new, introducing a new member or two should still be possible without alienating the long time fans. the discarded entrees from the ebichu audition could always be folded into other groups, after all.

I wouldn't call Bassho "relatively new" them and Tokisen started activities around the same time, months apart. Both went major and kind of got dropped by their labels (Victor and Universal), the difference is this, Tokisen got the opportunity to grow and learn from various experiences in their career and are now a stable great group, while Bassho is still experiencing for the first time those struggles.

Who knows, but after watching many idols joining these groups I personally like when they come in pairs, see for example KahoRiko, AyaNano, MiMinagi, MiAiri, BambiSala and now JuliAki. honestly I doubt anyone was really at fault for Mizuha leaving, if we really had to stretch the blame then I'd have to imagine the management are at fault.
the abruptness of her departure and the somewhat apathetic response from staff lends credence to the thought that a minor conflict balled into a genuine split.
I wouldn't be surprised if she'd been thinking about it for a while though, and in a different universe she probably officially announced it after their zepp tour, and had a real farewell like Misato had.
