Shounen is more a demographic referring to the magazine that the product is running in. Jujutsu kaisen is a supernatural, battle manga and shounen jump as a whole tends to have a lot of stuff that I guess one could stereotypically call targeted at boys.

But then there's stuff like ancient magus bride that's in a Shounen magazine but has a lot of aspects a bit more reminiscent of shoujo so people kept mistaking it for one

Shounen and Shoujo don't really tell you a lot when some series could literally be switched between magazines, or you have "shounen" magazine basically read mostly by girls.

Yes, a shounen/shoujo manga is just a manga published in a magazine aimed at that demographic. By strict definition it can be any genre and have any sort of artstyle, plot or content (as long as it's not straight up porn, although plenty of them try to push that limit.)
But as literally everyone knows, a specific kind of battle manga tends to dominate in those magazines (especially in WSJ.) Those manga DO have a specific genre and artstyle and various cliché concepts. another popular genre in shounen is sports with their own specifics. And it's the same thing for shoujo manga. So when people hear "shounen manga" or "shoujo manga" they have prior assumptions because they know what sort of manga have been dominating those magazines since the 70s.
Nips have little confusion about this. Spiky-haired MC gets powered up by friendship from his nakama? "That's shounen." Hot-blooded kids making ridiculous sport plays while shouting technique names? "Yup, smells like shounen." Absurdly pretty characters with big bright eyes and curly hair gazing at each others in a rose garden? "haha, that's shoujo style." They might name a classic shounen/shoujo title to compare it to instead, but if they see someone just calling those shounen/shoujo they aren't going to feel a need to correct them.
Now when they see shitty romcom slapstick with fanservice or cute girls doing cute things they don't say "wow this is just like a shounen manga." Even though SoL, comedy or harem romance manga are generously present in many shounen magazines, for some mysterious reason they aren't associated with them in people's minds like those other genres are.

I have no idea why ascended weebs fixated on that particular bit of pedantism. "Pulp" means more than just a budget novel printed on pulp paper. "Hollywood movie" means more than just a movie produced in some valley in California. DC/Marvel doesn't just mean every single comic published by DC/Marvel. Light novels, visual novels or web novels are akshually just mediums that tend to be more popular with some demographics, you know?
Now yes there are some hopelessly confused retards out there who are unaware of the variety shounen magazines can have and try to define what shounen means as if it's just a genre and talk about "borderline seinen" and other nonsense (though there is a sub-type of shounen magazines aimed at older teens.) It's like trying to define what american comics are like and then dismissing any comic that isn't capeshit as "not american" regardless of it being published by Marvel and drawn by one of the big names in the industry.

So I read Bustafellows. I don't know what to say. I was going to say it's a solid recommend until the final truth ending which was the most baffling thing I've read and I can't believe anyone would think it was a good idea. It manages to ruin multiple side characters and relationships and makes it extremely hard to want to reread certain scenes again. If it was the well written kind of miserable I wouldn't mind but it was tacky and unsatisfying and added no value to the story. Nothing. I guess the one saving grace is it doesn't ruin any of the main cast, but the game spent a lot of time building up side characters just to dump them in the trash for some shocking twists so it does not exactly instill faith in me for what the sequel is going to do with those characters. The writing's biggest problem in the first place was that it frequently didn't hit the right emotional notes when it came to the cast's personal struggles so I can't imagine it handling a topic this heavy well. I'm strongly hoping it gets retconned or ignored.
Anyway ignoring that the last 2 hours of the game exist it was a good game. Does a great job staying fun and engaging the whole way through. The hook was super good and the opening hours were 10/10, sadly it doesn't keep up that level of tightness and the writing for individual cases isn't that strong, but it's still a competent action story that always has multiple threads going on in the background. Also has among the highest production values I can remember seeing for an otomege. Animated backgrounds, tons of assets and cut-ins, movie cutscenes, spoken dialog played in parallel or overlapping itself, some unique stuff with choices. I usually wouldn't put this much value in presentation over other elements of a game but what it does with the system does elevate the game several notches. I was still being pleasantly surprised by things it did hours in.
Teuta's a great MC with cool moments and a fun dynamic with the guys even just as friends. They all grow to consider each other family over the course of the game and it's very sweet and satisfying to watch. Even in individual routes and epilogues the whole group is still there and relevant and has banter and sticks their necks out for each other and it's hard not to love the whole bunch of them. Crow(turbovirgin) was cutest with Teuta but my own favorite was Helvetica because he's a smug piece of shit and everything out of his mouth was terrible and he had moments of intense gap moe when he shows his care for his friends and when he suffers. There's ultimately not a lot of romance but what is there is cute and satisfying. Probably down to the individual how well they take the content of the twist. I personally hated everything about it. Although I can say the true end is written like shit whether you can accept the twist or not. Too many sudden developments, it tries to pull a tearjerker out of nowhere to the point it's comical and then shows you almost none of the aftermath despite the revelations being things that would have a huge emotional impact on multiple characters. It's not a good sequel hook either since it's not like the situation can be fixed.
It's still a fun game that did a lot of stuff I liked and I don't regret getting it at all, so if you were interested don't worry. I'm sure you'll have a good time with it.
