Probably something to do with the track.
At the speeds they're going, the joins in the tracks would have to be much smoother to prevent severe jostling, or even derailment.
Could be a different answer, but I think it's a possible one.

It is taking a bit of time, but some good updates will come to the github/stream list!
Now anyone (with access) will be able to easily add new streams without having to know how to code (even if it was very easy to add stuff).
Still accepting volunteers.

I have finally made a github account and went to issues, but it seems like there are no open issues. (Or do I have to create one?) Looks like you already have help as well.

I've been looking through your code to try see what I still remember and understand from school. Man, it has all changed from what I remember. Used to be you had to put tags like <html>, <head>, <body>, etc, but that looks all gone now. And everything is done by script, which I can't remember anything about, so I hope there is some sort of guide to adding streams or whatever it is you want me to do.

>> No.33114767

Dude, we have a guy for all the code stuff. He is remaking the whole site. A bit slowly, but it is free after all. We just need a guy or two that will update more often than me. All you need to do is use this UI >>32973094 created by the coder dude.

Suggestions for what? And yes, that UI is for adding streams. That's the whole point of me asking people here. Adding streams to the lists. Maintaining the as a whole.
But also making a recording guide eventually would be nice.
Also you can maybe just PM me, I think that is possible too.

>> No.33115234

>>33114960
>Suggestions for what?
Just minor things like adding an "Animal" tag (unless you don't want animals on your site), or perhaps embedding the YT streams into your site.

So do I create a new issue on github to talk to you?

>> No.33115655

>>33115234
If we are talking about streams that have animals among other things, possible. But if it is just a stream of some animal, doesn't feel Japan enough. Embedding is also pointless. It is better to link to the channel/livestream page of the channel, than the stream itself. Because streams get restarted all the time and the link links to nothing.

Lets just say... web development is a shit hole now. There's so many frameworks and tooling, its ridiculous.
What we've done with the train website is mostly scripting via Jekyll, to reduce the redundant work. Its not great, but it helps.

> I hope there is some sort of guide to adding streams or whatever it is you want me to do.
Wouldn't want you to swim through all that HTML/script soup too, sir. That's why we made an editor to make our lives a little easier.

>>33116667
Perhaps its better to state that "we are looking for volunteers to maintain the list of streams". So people don't mistake it as "maintaining the website", which sounds more monumental.
