Because he's been making the same shit with a new coat of paint for each game? Because he's an unoriginal story-writer whose best real printed work is a Slice-of-life comedy, and primarily a maker of good Curtain Fire games? Because he's a drunkard? Because these characters are time-honoured tropes that worked in many famous parts of japanese pop culter?

>>Making fun of touhou for having shitty characters

Oh, please. These secondaryfags always get excited and butt-sore over rational criticism regarding ZUN'S HOLY WORK and its churc, IOSYSTINE CHAPEL.

I'm not making fun of Touhou because of that. Touhou is an STG with slight elements of moe'. The games are unpopular, consequently, and IOSYS disseminates it amongst people less skilled at Curtain Fire danmaku.
Then we have people who force themselves to play the games and boast about their score, after many days of sleepless, lucid playing, subsisting on nothing but ramen and pocky - /jp/'s GAMER FUEL.

Anyway, I just play Touhou because it's fun. I entertained the prospect of really seriously getting into it, but I haven't read a lot of the doujins, and so the fans all have different ideas about things.

I can't divulge that Sanae is a gigantic cock-slurping slut who enjoys having large, hot, pulsating dicks thrust between her fat tits, from a tiny little sprite shooting tiny boolits at fairies. I'm more worried about fucking surviving through Lunatic Kanako.

It's not like when you play her, there's a secret subsection where you put on VR equipment, visit Gensokyo's Human Village, and see if you can paint yourself in sperm before nightfall. It's like catching the P's and B's, with the pleasure of being cummed inside.

Virtually.

Sexfics are horrible. They're so, so, so hated and reviled by everyone on the Internet that while it presents a good premise, I'm not sure I'd want to embark on that and become known as ARCUEID BRUNESTUD, THE PERVERTED WHITE PRINCESS OF EYE-BLEEDING FANFICTION ABOUT TOUHOU CHARACTERS FUCKING ANON.

Like, people would copypasta them forever and use them to start shitstorms in threads when I'm not around, by posting them to butthurt-prone secondaryfags who cry their little eyes out when someone suggest that their favorite character isn't a chaste virgin.

It is a tantalizing prospect, though.

Also, writing takes a lot of work.

And even if it is easier...so? If you don't like the music in the first place, how are you going to get others to like your remixes. It still shows that people do like EoSD music which just goes back to the previous point that EoSD is still ridiculously popular after all these years.

Also, since I've studied and researched the art of fiction writing for quite a while - I have manuals, style guides, books on writing from famous authors, dictionaries, thesauruses, synonym and antonym books, that kind of thing. You mean like narrating what happens when Mokou visits Keine at that time of the month? Well. I've considered it.

Also, cybersecks/erotic roleplay/forum roleplay sets my teeth a-grinding in rage if the author has terrible command over the english language, or fails to animate their characters properly.

Knowing that they're doing it wrong, and blithely at that, is irritating. A little. And they don't often enjoy criticism. I personally don't care - in fact, if I had more time I'd post shit here so people would critique it - but then again, it would be excellent troll material.

The last time I wrote was five or seven years ago.

Suffice to say, the files are no longer around. I lost interest in the art after realizing how much work I'd need to put in and all for naught because I had no-one who could actually read it.

It was a novel-length tale, too. If you care to know, it was set in the far-future, a fairly common sci-fi romp in a world not entirely dissimilar to the world of GITS, Metal Gear, or Logan's Run - lots of mega-cities, automated technology, great advances in the final frontier - so great, in fact, that the Japanese had put to launch a new, incredibly strong, sentient battleship far larger that the tiny cruisers, cutters, and destroyers common to space-travel at that time.
Some activists, motivated by political means, hatch a plan to capture it and launch it into space, where they can bombard the Earth freely. It's up to a ragtag band of OPERATORS to track them down and save the ship.

The climax of the story is a battle in the stratosphere as the captured battleship soars up into the sky, killing hundreds of people in one fell swoop through surrounding structural damage.

Naturally, our boys go inside, and after a few firefights, a couple of tight squeezes, and of course a duel with the leader of the activists, the battleship is secured. Finito.

I also wrote several short stories and two more novel-length tales before them as exercise. One of which was a high-fantasy tale. I forget what the other was.
