It's fun to fight other Reisen players and see what strings they use, because I think her strings are really versatile. But what I think is most OP about her is that a random 236 within reasonable proximity to Reisen links into pretty much every spellcard she's got, for pretty stupid damage. So for that reason, I just force Mountain Breeze and blindmash a spellcard if I hit with a 236, or force Drizzle for worse. Reisen damage is pretty goddamn gross.

Yeah, it has to be my favorite move of hers.
It hits twice; the first one grazes, but if there's a bullet in the spot where the clones come back together it fucks her over.

It's awesome to do because occasionally people block the first hit then try to graze through afterward, letting it hit them because ALL of the clones have hitboxes until they're back in Reisen's original spot. It powers up to 6 clones at level 3 or 4, but it's still not as useful as you'd think it is unless the opponent's really just not paying attention. Fortunately that's something you see a lot of on /jp/.

I see the word "paragraphs," so it's probably true. But I think it's such a good thing because it keeps the game from being SUPER SRS TOURNEYFAG ONRY without making it unfair. I mean, if you know what you're doing you could probably beat a good player using a fishdeck, but generally it's just silly. If it were something like 20 invincibilities or fantasy heavens it would just break things, but this HELPS the community.

Hell, it might even get some of the casuals who left after the first week to come back.

If you'll have spirit potions in your deck I'd suggest coming up with some sorta plan for how to use them, instead of thinking "yo, potion, when should I use it, when should I use it?" and lose concentration. Personally I prefer the spirit regen buff cards, Patche's personal cards. Since it's permanent, you don't have to think too hard about timing, and it can get real awesome if you reach max level, feeding your opponent with bullet crap nonstop.

It's true that Patche is easy to use against people who automatically mashes, or aren't used to her tricks, but it doesn't take too long to figure out the Patche way of playing.

You newfangled Cirno scrubs are ruining the meaning of 66C. Back when I was in my prime, 66C was more than just a button combination people threw around to complain about ice chunks and stopsigns. Back then, 66C meant something. 66C was an ART.

Also it does have to do with skill level. Too much 66C means the player is compensating because they have no idea how to break out of pressure or approach otherwise. ;_;

Well to start, Meiling is no good at long range, so you should always try to get in your opponent's face and hit them with a melee attack. Her 214 C is great for getting through bullets but it has a bit of recovery so you shouldn't use it unnecessarily. You are vulnerable to melee attacks while grazing so if you see your opponent following after one of their bullets they're most likely trying to hit you while you graze. The best thing to do in this situation is to block but you could also try using a graze attack to hit your opponent before they hit you. Meiling's graze attack has some startup though so you should only use it when you know you're safe. Try to mix-up what you do so you don't become predictable. I got you with Suika's spellcard that last round because I knew you were going to try to jump in and hit me.

Spectate games when you can, sometimes you can learn more by watching other people play than playing yourself. Guy is a pretty good Meiling player; you should spectate his games if you get the chance. He can't host as far as I know so spectating him is a matter of luck.

You aren't as bad as you think you are, some of those rounds were pretty close. Besides, everyone has to start somewhere right?

I'm not whoever you played, but generally what you want to do is go to the wiki, then go into practise mode - and go through all the moves, learn 1 mid screen combo and 1 corner combo. Then go through your offensive spellcards and find which ones you can combo into.

"00 00" is actually a bomb, i don't know what happens if you give it a bogus high value
i just know if you use "14" wrong, you can cause a deck to end too early (you can also make the profile smaller than the normal file size)

There weren't any dropped inputs and it didn't mess very much up, it was just... slow. Reisen, bullet time, etc. I guess I just play better in lag. My only problem with it is that it takes a longass time.

two things you could try if you're antsy and willing,
1. delete (not overwrite) bytes at random, one of my bad profiles had a smaller filesize and this was linked to an empty deck
2. use a memory editor (artmoney/tsearch) to trick the profile editor into thinking you have 20 cards, this sometimes works but sometimes just crashes it

I usually try catch people with spellcards after 22b/c but that's impossible to judge with the lag so I just ended up using it to avoid damage when I was low and hope you were going to punish it.

I applaud you for learning everyone as well as you did, but doing SRS PLAY in this with only a fishdeck is SO much more fun than fancy SCs and shit. The only one of my mains that really suffers for it is Cirno because I need icesword and super icesword to survive with her; default just doesn't cut it.

GGs though. You should get a fishdeck yourself someday, it feels great to know you're pulling off blockstrings and combos with a deck full of giant catfish that knock you out. Actually, the fish is useful as a "you're about to combo me in the corner so I'll block and while you're doing your fancy-ass blockstring this fish is going to knock your ass down so I can prepare oki and crush you" tool, and also inspires paranoia that makes people try desperately to get off the ground. Nice if you have a good airgame setup prepared.
