I think at least 95% of the holofags, even if they don't like touhou, don't want to kill the niche generals either. I never posted on /jp/ before Hololive but I'm lurking in some of those threads since years ago. No one actually likes this situation. However our thread's quality improved a bit because some individual threads shaved off a few schizos, but 9 out of 10 vtuber thread are completely worthless and should die because they have no place on this board. And neither HoloEN, which is probably the biggest cancer, but we can't really do anything against that
Thankfully the swarm of the new threads is slowed down and the catalog isn't THAT bad now, most generals already able to survive. Give it a few days until the worst shitposters will get bored and the catalog will be basically the same except maybe a few Holo thread, but those won't be much faster than an average general here because most people just like to post in the giant threads more.

People are just using the board normally to discuss Hololive, there's literally no declaration of war from Hololive. This is /jp/ - Otaku Culture, not /r/touhou. Idols, Japanese VTubers and VTubing companies, gijinka/monster girl franchises, being Japanese otaku products, all belong on /jp/. This board is so broad in scope you'll never make everyone happy unless you up the number of pages to keep up with the sheer breadth of topics.

The only real issue with vtubers is how much of a hot topic they are right now, that's why they only had a few generals worth of space, so they didn't drown the rest of the board with their numbers. And then a mod forces them out of their containment and threads on /jp/ start dying 10 times quicker. That's what the previous moderation was trying to prevent and what /jp/sies didn't want to see happen.
