Put the leg back in in the same orientation it came out in. There is a semi circle on both the leg joint and once those match up the two slide together pretty easily from my experience.

I've never really had the same problem getting legs back into the f3 frame, maybe I don't know how hard life is since I've never had to mess with an older frame. I may get shit on for essentially saying hurr durr just put it back in, but doing the above I've never really had to spend that much time resetting joints.

I put the left leg on first with the interconnecting piece attached, then I use a hair dryer to warm up the vinyl around the leg hole a bit for the right leg and it usually pops right on as long as the joint is orientated right. You have to make sure the parts line up perfectly.
