The aftermath that've been shown in Tatarigoroshi is pretty large scale.
Though you're right that we didnt see a clear cut proof where someone healthy jumped from lower level to level 5 in just a couple of hrs or 1 day, though couple of days of progression like we've seen from the club members is still pretty fast imo.

Ok, so I'm back with some new edits. I trained a new model to ciconiafy Higurashi sprites. Mostly it slightly improves shading and adds some texturing to clothing.

I'd like some honest opinions on this. Yay or nay? Currently what I'm planning is to mod Onikakushi-hen by first ciconiafying the sprites with this model to fix shading and textures and then running everything through neural color transfer to recolor the sprites with the PS2 coloring. But I'm not sure if anybody besides me actually wants this or not.

One problem here is that the ciconiafication process itself alters the coloration of the subject, as you can see here. I think the PS2 coloring for Higurashi is mostly ok. I agree that changing Lambda's hair color was a big issue, but do you know if there are any similar problems in Higurashi that I should be aware of?

I still don't get the relationship between Umineko and Higurashi, so I've tried to disconnect them up to now. Did Rika get so mentally fucked that she legit split into a new personality in some transcendent realm "just because that's how it works deal with it"? I don't mean this with full intellectual honesty but the proper words escape me, but everything that happened with witches felt very asspully in Umineko, I'm only 130+ iq but I don't know if I'm 150+ so maybe I got intellectually filtered. Been a year since I read umi and 2 since higu so forgive my amnesia.

Basically. Battler is detective POV and he didn't see Shannon in the shed, (literally counts the fucking bodies and names five of them, not 6). All the servants are in on it, (except Gohda because he is a faggot). Natsuhi knows Kinzo is actually dead, as do the servants. However, Natsuhi is not aware of Yasu, leaving her out of the bigger picture. Basically, Natsuhi is an accidental accomplice who helped hide Kinzo's body in the past and is willing to do anything to cover that up. This allows the servants to subtly abuse this fact in order to cover up Yasu's plan. Hideyoshi and Eva play an important role in this because, at minimum, Hideyoshi helped cover up the fact that Shannon's body didn't exist with Nanjo's assistance. My only worry is that Natsuhi didn't mention seeing Shannon's body and was suspiciously blocking the siblings, but I think Natsuhi is supposed to be a massive red herring in this episode, (it worked for awhile on two of my friends who I am re-reading with, [they are completely out of the loop lmao]).

To explain other things; magic circles drawn by Yasu since Shannon confirms knowing about occult while talking with cousins at the beach, (Yasu saw the scorpion charm and knew what it represented, hence why they faked something trying to enter Natsuhi's room). On the way to pick up the cousins, Yasu disguised as Beatrice and gave Maria the umbrella and letter. Yasu then changed into Kanon and picked up the cousins. Eva then tried to gaslight the servants and Natsuhi. She was likely plotting behind Yasu's back, which backfired, leading Battler closer to the truth. Hence why they are the next twilight, (keep in mind that Kanon overheard Battler basically asking for a crime that proves Beatrice exists). The ring is also super fucking easy for Yasu to get in this episode. Hell, they could have had it in their possession the entire time, (also note that Shannon got the shed key from the mansion servant room; literally went over at the time of the murder when she wasn't even assigned there).

My best theory for the second twilight is that Yasu entered the room at one point, killing Eva and Hideyoshi. Yasu, in the form of Kanon, was then released by Kumasawa; the door was painted red by Kanon. Everything before the discovery of that crime scene by Natsuhi and co. is a bullshit fantasy made up by the servants. Same with Kanon's "death"; it was faked. Battler never confirmed Kanon's corpse. The rest is just going to be Kanon, (*cough* "Beatrice" (Yasu)) killing everyone from the shadows. Kinzo's body was set up by the servants obviously. There were plenty of times where they could move Kinzo's body, (if it wasn't stored in the incinerator already) and light it up.

Naima's design is genius. First of all, she's white and we all know caucasian middle eastern lolis from Syria or Iraq are the most beautiful in the world. The decorated pink hijab is hella cute and accentuates her modesty, making her appear exotic, pure, childish and playful at the same time. It also hides most of her head, giving her hair a mysterious allure that makes the idea of seeing it somehow lewd and intimate. She looks so modest and religious, it makes you want to strip her naked and see her wretched human form in all its glory, and observe her reaction to this shameful display.

We normally identify anime characters by their hair color and hairstyle. By hiding it, the most remarkable parts of her design become the few parts where she shows any skin. Clair is just an aspect of Yasu.
The way you see witches depends. We basically see 3 worlds in umineko, the meta world, the chessboard and ange's future world.
The world inside the chessboard is directly affected by the metaworld battles and the desires of the players inside it, as we see many times.
You can come to the conclusion that all magic and witches are fake, and as such none of the meta world characters exist either.
In that case, all of the battles being fought in that meta world are representing some struggle in the future of people coming to a general consensus about what happened in Rokkenjima.
Scenes in the "higher plane" then are just as much of a story as the scenes inside the chessboard, an embellishment of people arguing on the internet about the truth.
In that case magic is entirely parlor tricks like pick related and Bernkastel is just fulfilling some role, possibly personifying a theory, person or something else from the future.

You can also view the future world as inferior to the meta world, the same as the world within the chessboard - just another fragment that the witches could affect but don't, with a few weirdos like Featherine that have a piece version of themselves down there for fun.
In that case, the big metaworld battles are happening literally, Bernkastel is some manifestation or remnant of Rika's time traversing fragments and the mystery surrounding Rokkenjima allowed for Beato to get a chance to transcend into a higher world.
The game won't tell you literally, so go for what you feel is right.

Yasu. But not exactly. She's Yasu in the sense of "the person who plays as Shannon/Kanon/Beatrice". Her theatrical leitmotif is notorious.
Who "created" her? Well, most likely Featherine and/or Bern fucking around with the gameboard. She's the gameboard's "heart" in a sense. From a 1998 perspective, she's just a literary device to allow the Hachijos to explore Yasu's complexity, assuming they are the authors. Which would explain details like Clair STILL shitting on Battler and the very existence of Lion and Willard as "perfect" versions of Yasu and Battler.

Witches are many things. That said Lambda, Bern and Featherine are obviously witches in a different sense than the Rokkenjima witches. They are most likely just magical beings (just like Hanyuu anyways) that live in a world ours is just a part of. The nature of Beato's metaworld and what does it mean to be a witch within it is more ambiguous. Beatrice can be a "true" witch within it because she was able to ascend thanks to her determination to make an endless world + Lambda's approval, which allowed her to be a territory lord. This Beatrice is Yasu larping as the character we know, and is likely powered by the "outside", as in, the "real" world believing a witch did it thanks to the original bottle messages. The influence of the "real" world is obvious in the mere existence of Evatrice which yes, is part of Eva, but also the result of an "Eva culprit theory". Then we have Virgilia and Maria who are witches in Yasu's magical interpretation of the world. And Ange who is a witch thanks to inheriting Beato's and Maria's good "magic".
All of this said there's also a clear parallel between being a witch and interacting with stories. By this perspective, Beato is a witch because of her work (the message bottles, her magical universe), Maria is a witch because of her grimoire, Eva is a witch because of her secret diary, Ange is a witch because of her children books, Featherine is a witch because of the Hachijos' forgeries (and probably other works?). You could then interpret Bern and Lambda as different types of readers. This is valid and probably also part of what Ryuukishi was going for.

I'd say Ryuukishi did plan the witches' world, we just get to see a small part of it. And that part makes enough sense by its own as far as I'm concerned. Beato's metaworld exists is a magical realm that's separated but not totally closed off from the "real world", because it was born from there, specifically from stories from there - Beato's own writings, public perception about the incident. Voyager/creator witches shit is less clear, mostly because we're just indirectly told stuff about it. Of course we would - this is Beato's tale after all, the world surrounding her gameboard is secondary. But we also know what we need to know: these are magical beings that transcend normal WTC worlds and play with them. Why? Because they are bored. How? It most likely depends. If you haven't you should check out The First and The Last Gift - it's the prologue of Hotarubi, a manga advertised as part of WTC. The manga is subpar but the short story makes it clear that the nature of "games" varies greatly - the constant is that they are "stories".
And, well, of course, along with them being stories, we have the Hachijos stuff, that might seem to destabilize all magical interpretation. Umineko also exists inside that tension between higher magic realms and the Hachijos fanfiction.

Yasu is a servant and can easily access the room using a key, or by asking. Yasu likely entered the room under the guise of Kanon and thrust down the stake with all his might while Eva was sleeping, killing her instantly. The same applies to Hideyoshi, who was in the shower at the time. The murder was done silently. The sound of the shower on top of the closed shower room door would have masked any noise that Kanon made while entering, allowing the culrpit to catch Hideyoshi off guard. Therefore, the murder would have been easy for Yasu to commit.

I can see why Uminekochads think your theory is retarded and don't debate with you. It ignores major narrative details that revolve around the idea of Shkanontrice, which the author has confirmed as canon. On my re-read, I will solve all games using Shkanontrice and send your shitty theory to the grave. Oishi said he was calling from the station but the background noises let us know he was in that phone booth.
Oishi made Keichi mad by making him suspect his friend Rena, these suspicions made them kill Rena and then commit suicide in the hospital once they understood the fact

Rika has motive to kill Takano (since she knows that she is trying to kill her from the previous kakeras), but has never been able to do so in any previous kakera. However it is likely that she might have been able to do so now. However! Additionally in the Manga, she states that she will get their happy end back, which shatters any motive for Rika to preemptively kill her friends. (And implies that the happy ending had already been reached before) To continue from this line of reasoning, Rika will never take any *intentional* action on any of her friends who aren't L5.

Going into the Hinamizawa syndrome, it exists. It comes from cicada's unironically.
