the 07th mod updates the sprites and backgrounds of higurashi and umineko and adds voices to the game
for example, in the pic, the left is the original umineko sprite and the right is the updated umineko sprite
some like the new sprites, other dislike them, some like playing with voices, others don't
i personally prefer the original sprites and playing without voices, but it's completely up to you

even if you decide to go with the original sprites and no voices for higurashi, you should get the music 07th mod for it. it restores higurashi's original soundtrack to the steam version, which replaced a lot of the music in the game

I always found it odd how these friends interacted and always with some weird aggressive and sudden change to soft caring behaviour and the club activities kind of show off that since they are too violent or too harsh. Been re-reading higurashi and something is odd to me in game 3.
So technically keiichi killed "teppei" at the night of watanagashi and buried his body. His friends all gave him an alibi like they did with satoshi in episode 5. Making keiichi confused why everyone is saying he went to the festival right? So we have confirmation that he was not at the festival. He also meets takano who drives him home after he's done burying the body. But teppei is still alive afterwards and there is no body where he buried him.
So what exactly happened there?
Did he make a mistake about the place where he buried the body? Did he accidently kill someone else (he had some doubts about this aswell right)? Or did he kill teppei and satoko was imagining that he came home anyway and ordered her to get into the bath?


Another thing, about the current anime. If rika knows about who kills her, what exactly is her reason for not gathering everyone to try and defeat takano like in episode 8? Why are they going from a different version of onikakushi to watanagashi now? I'm a bit confused.

There is also the possibility that Mion didn't have the guts to dig up the corpse and Takano didn't know where it was. Maybe Keiichi simply mixed up the holes. Because that world was an accumulation of all the previous pieces, set up behind the scenes by Bernkastel to guarantee that random factor won't fuck up Rika's plan. We see Bernkastel making sure Akasaka remembers to come back and other stuff. Rika also relied a lot on luck and pulled a literal miracle out of her ass at the end, on top of having Hanyuu manifest physically. It also took a lot of convincing the key characters involved with Takano to distrust her.

She probably doesn't want to put her friends through all that stress again, literally facing against a counter-intelligence unit and bringing firearms into it. Hanyuu isn't physically there either, and these fragments are not prearranged by Bern to give her a better chance of winning (who the fuck knows where Bernkastel is, she left after Matsuribayashi). Also, Rika is relying on her knowledge to prevent the tragedies but she fucked up in this arc, suspecting that Keiichi is paranoid when Rena was actually insane the whole time.

She carries a BB gun the whole time so she can switch it out for a real one if it's ever necessary to protect herself.
