They are one of my favorite things about the franchise at least.
For Poppin Party their 7th and 5th lives are probably my favorites. Their animelo performances are pretty good like their God Knows cover. You can't really go wrong with RAS but my personal recommendation is heaven and earth.
Not sure about Roselia because I haven't watched a lot of their lives.

RAS is good for when you just want to switch off and ooh and ahh at the band while headbanging. They don't do intermissions, their MCs are short, but their concerts are full power from start to end so there is never a dull moment.

Roselia concerts feel more like something you can enjoy whether in person or while watching them on a screen. The intermissions are hilarious (even if the staff have it out for Aiai, and the intermissions for Einheit drew flack for how inconsiderate/mean-spirited they were to the band all in all), the MCs have gotten increasingly entertaining, and the visuals make up for the common mic/sound problems - the problems are often edited in post-production, sometimes coming off as oddly artificial-sounding; while the fireworks, pyrotechnics, showmanship etc add to the visual spectacle.

I'm about the opposite from you in that Popipa shows are the ones I've watched the least, but the sheer volume of them by virtue of being the series mascot means that the quality of the shows is noticeably better when comparing older shows with their more recent performances. Much akin to their fictional counterparts, it often feels a lot like watching a bunch of friends who happen to be in a band.

Putting spoiler tags for the benefit of those who haven't watched Einheit.

For context, a staple of the Roselia intermissions is for the members to undergo shared experiences (training camp, game show style quizzes, amusement park rides, whatever) while not breaking character. Every instance of breaking character counts as a point against the portrayer, and at the end of it all, the member who broke character the most times will have to undergo a punishment game of some sort, which is generally tied to making the closing announcements at the end of the concert.

For Einheit, which means unity (so Google Translate tells me), and in line with it being the "8th Live," Roselia did a series of "team building activities" that had goals to do with the number 8 and had to be completed in 45 minutes: catch 8 fish from a pond, knock down 8 pins each at a bowling alley, make 8 laps around a ping pong table, and a kendama challenge that I'll elaborate on below.

Fishing was comparatively okay, if we disregard that (1) fish which weren't held in their nets didn't count, (2) fish that weren't big "enough" didn't count. They did allow the members to change their positions (while tossing in captions about how Aiai's atsu too tsuyoi and scared off the fish in her area).

Then came bowling where things looked increasingly amiss. The members took turns in a fixed rotation to bowl, but if anyone failed to meet the objectives (8 pins, spare, or strike) they would have to start from the beginning. So if members 1, 2 and 3 were successful and member 4 was not, the cycle would restart at member 1. Ping pong started with a gotcha from the staff as they made the members pull slips from a box which denoted what they would use in place of their confiscated ping pong rackets. Aiai: frying pan (she kept cracking up at the sound it made, so every time she hit the ball had a clanging caption), Nonchan: fly swatter, I forgot whether it was Meguchi or KDHR who got a badminton racket, and Yukki was the only one who drew a normal ping pong racket. Unsurprisingly, bearing such a big handicap, and with the already difficult task of juggling the ball around the table for 8 laps, they spent most of their time failing, laughing, and laughing until they failed. Eventually they completed the task after negotiating to include the floor, so the ball missing the table wouldn't be treated as out of bounds.

The kendama challenge was set up as the finale. The members not only had to all get the ball onto the pointy end of the kendama, which is hard already on its own (see: the Kukugumi kirameki challenge which also used kendama), but they were to do it together simultaneously. Unlike the previous tasks, this one had no time limit. They were not allowed to leave the rooftop where the challenge took place until they succeeded. In the end, Nonchan was visibly breaking down because she couldn't do the trick with the kendama though the others figured it out far earlier (she was already rattled during the bowling challenge when her turn was decisive in whether they cleared it), Roselia were literally held on that rooftop for over 4 hours, and the whole thing looked like a big meaningless waste of time. And then they still had to talk about how it brought them all closer to close it up; props to Aiai for keeping her cool and really showing her leadership there.

Now, the issues.
(1) The 45-minute time limit was likely not adhered to, or fudged with editing. It was bright out when filming started, so early afternoon at most, but it was nighttime when they were brought to the roof. Meguchi falling asleep also suggests that they spent more than 45 minutes at the bowling alley.
(2) These people already play instruments for the sake of the show. Obviously fans wouldn't take it well to see them run ragged, physically and mentally, for the sake of some debatable degree of "entertainment value" and proving their bond as a band.
(3) The staff has set precedent of victimizing Aiai (see: the Wasser intermissions) just to make her the subject of the punishment game, or increase the likelihood of it being her. Sure, she doesn't do herself any favors to start with. But this time, the staff didn't even bother to rig things anymore, they simply decided that everyone finished with the same score (while making it seem in earlier parts that Meguchi was, for once, the member who broke character most often), and so they would all be punished together.

The magazine isn't particularly expensive, but it is rather bulky. About the size of a typical issue of Jump/Sunday/etc. Most of the content is comics, like 4koma Starlight, the RAS prequel and other Bushiroad-related series. I got a couple of copies back when there was a serialization that I wanted to read while it was out rather than wait for TPBs, though I stopped because they took up too much space. If there was a digital version for e-readers they might have higher readership but that doesn't seem likely to happen any time soon.

I haven't seen much discussion on the subject at all to have some kind of general rank. I think ranking the skill level on something like playing a musical instrument isn't right, there are too many topics on each instrument to make some overall score or something like that. Also add that they are not playing songs they wrote so they have for the most part just do things made by other people who probably doesn't know their strengths or weaknesses.
If you want my opinion as a Keyboard player, as I said, that would be hard because it's a wide set of topics and I should hear them again to notice more stuff (I just enjoy the lives, I don't care too much). And there are a bunch of limitations for their playing, like the velocity layers set on piano parts are usually very compressed, this gives them less dynamic range for doing a lot of stuff, this is a big deal if you like doing big chords because you have to bring up some intervals of the chord to give it life. There's also the compositional part of it, there's usually no space for dropping a walking bassline on a band scheme.
If you see Reo's performance on her birthday you can see she's doing all this stuff and I suppose she can do more, but there isn't enough footage of Reo playing on her zone or enough solo parts where she can expose her skills like she want to. There's the solo duel with Rikopin on the 7th live was on lead-synth and apparently Reo isn't used to lead-synth as much as she's used to piano, The solo was good, but if you compare it to the Piano performance on her live, the difference is big (I could go in more detail, but I don't think you want to read me talking about keyboards all day).
That being said, even analyzing the bandori stuff, it would be unfair to rank them, also because most of them begun with classical piano training and that comes with another skills that we might never see

songs written for Bandori will always be at an inherent disadvantage due to the fact that they will always be forced to accommodate for the game.
each songs needs to work when cut down to around 1:30 minutes in length, which means they could never have a long intro to a song, nor could they ever make something over 6 or so minutes in length.
just once, they should let all of the groups write a few songs for themselves, free of constraint.

There's funny and there's cringey attempts at humor. The A/B quiz for example gave us several memorable memes while still actually being funny, you could see Aiai progressively digging her grave deeper but it always had a gameshow-like atmosphere. I didn't attend Rau/Cra but the classroom scenario with Aimi-sensei and RAS also read like actual fun for both viewer and participant, according to reports I read.

Meanwhile the Einheit intermissions were just dumb. If the staff wanted to test their teamwork they could have made them go on an NFO quest in real life or something, like the Hibiki Style episode of Tsumu going on a Pokémon gym quest. I'm not really a drummer but Megu is a solid drummer. Some of the double bass drum stuff is simplified live but she's still able to do most of the fills and keep time.
