Typical weeaboo dream: Learn Japanese and go to Japan. If you are half-serious about that 'dream' you'll start learning Japanese and hopefully continue after the first 5 classes. On the long run, you'll have learned Japanese.
Tomorrow, even if your weeaboo fever has faded, you have acquired knowledge of another language and you have improved yourself in an aspect. And this knowledge might be of help too, for example you could be a tour guide for Japanese people in your country, be a translator, getting your Japanese waifu, etc.
On the other hand, if you think that learning Japanese is such a monumental task that you won't accomplish it even if you try, you won't go anywhere, you'll become stagnated in your current condition (like reading second or third hand information from your favorite idols).

My point is that your ambitions are what makes you improve yourself. If you have no ambitions, you'll learn nothing new and probably continue your routine life until you die.

Oh if it were as simple as that friend. I'm a big believer in the role of environment on development. Personally, I think my only way to get into Japan is to find my buddy who speaks Korean,Chinese, and Japanese and visit there.
If my time there demonstrates a reason to push to the next level, I'd consider it. But ultimately I've accepted that especially not now I'm not wanted there without some sort of unique raw talent.

Ah, now I see your point of view. I, personally, don't see it as a personal improvement. That's just better living conditions, where you have access to more services and goods. The people who invented those technologies and services are the ones who matter. Personal improvement for me is to improve yourself, better your skills, acquire more knowledge, get a better understanding of the world, etc. immaterial things that are innate to you. Because if your worth is decided by external factors, it's not 'personal' anymore.

I completely disagree with that statement because you can't take away the knowledge that was gained from that experience no matter how short, often times when I'm out doing regular things I laugh at how completely different my mind is because of the completely different nature of my hobbies. (of course as is demonstrated by this board many find their hobbies as a source of weakness while I find mine as a completely refreshing source of originality)

Just watched the whole show and I'm glad that I downloaded it. I'm just so relieved that it wasn't another one of those daunting love dramas that I've burned out on. Instead what I saw was a interesting, plot twisting, and impressive episode 1 of season 2.
Not watching season 1 I was at a disadvantage obviously for the format of the show and the nature of the main characters but thankfully those questions all get answered by the end of the episode.
I actually rather enjoyed Honma's character and is able to effectively mix things up.
Andou's character was obviously very hokey (the reincarnation of Mick Jagger, lol) but the writing behind his situation was actually pretty well done. Kind of wished GAM ended the same way as his band
That producer lady, I swear I remember her from another love drama but I can't remember for the life of me right now. But she is really a good actress, funny she was running around, whining, and apologizing like such a helpless woman stereotype.
And then there is Ayaya's character.
Lets just say it brings a new appreciation to the work that Ai put into her role. Obviously with such a minimal part you can't tell to much right now but even in her small role you can tell her acting is just plain not good. For some reason she can't fake being stressed out, what the hell?.
And why does Honma even want to talk to her at the end of that episode, it doesn't make sense.
But I'll give Ayaya another chance because I actually want to see the next episode.

I just wanted to point out that this season is a REMAKE so people watching it without watching the first one are better off because this ep was pretty much the same as the first ep of the last one. So for people who saw the first one it would be pretty boring. However I think from here on it will be different.

Watched episode 2. Much better than the first one, Mika's choice was much more rational than Andou's.

A few comments:
1. Blind people use Braille, not Morse code. However, you can't transmit Braille over waves, so it's understandable why they changed it.
2. Honma needs a good beating.
3. FUCKING GIVE SHACHOU MORE AIR TIME GODDAMMIT!! AND STOP MAKING HER SUCK HIS V-COCK AT THE END OF EVERY EPISODE. Really, after all that foreshadowing you don't need to explain every detail.
4. Someone needs to give Honma a good beating, I'd do it myself ad-honorem.
5. After considering Mika's situation, isn't the producer in a similar predicament? She's supposed to be the producer but in the end, she's just running after Honma's orders and taking all the blame, just because she wants her daughter to think that she's successful (like Mika wanted her mother to think that she could publish novels). Take a hint and hire a few guys to beat Honma up, miss producer, you're just his puppet and will continue running like his lap dog if you keep this up.
7. Did I mention that Honma needs to have his attitude fixed? With fists and blunt objects, if possible. You could have some respect and treat people with some courtesy

Kanousei has made it to DVD twice IIRC (Fall '04 & '06 Concert Tour DVDs), and I suppose you could find a few more performances of it in fan recordings, but it's not one of her regular tracks nor is it a favorite of mine.

Not sure if I should keep that bit spoiled, but just to be on the safe side... You're right, she really is. She never stands up for herself or stops Honma from doing what he sets to do (I'd image a producer would have a bit more pull backstage), and she wasn't even in control of that meeting early in the show when Honma chose Mika.

The real author/manager only abused her when he threw the water on Mika at the start, bitch was sleeping when she has a public appearance in 2 minutes. Besides that, he didn't seem like a bad guy.
