Priconne is way better. I'm still having fun with Pride of Eden though but that's mainly because I luckfagged and I like some of the girls a lot. If the character designs do not appeal to you then there's no real reason to play it over Priconne.

Some of these are nice challenges honestly. You definitely have to look up what your characters can do in order to figure out how to set them in the formation first. The enemies also have triggers too so activating a skill in the wrong time can fuck everything up.
With how zero IQ ungabunga the game had been so far, I really wasn't expecting any content to actually make me think or go through so much trial and error but that may be more attributed to me being a brainlet than the content being challenging.

Gone through 11 chapters of story which is 30 crystals per node and 150 for clearing the chapter iirc?
Almost done with 2nd chapter of the Priconne Hard Mode equivalent and each node gives 50 crystals with clearing a chapter giving 500
Equipment drop maps which you can do 10 times a day and each one gives 150 crystals for first clear iirc
Climbing PVP milestones and refreshing PVP attempts since the refreshes pay themselves back and then some and it's better to climb the bot-infested top ranks now before whales settle in and it becomes impossible to hit those milestones.
Affection side stories give 50 crystals per affection level
And the rest are from mission rewards

I think for the scenario I'm speculating, the analogy would be closer to "the nails are all already in, but someone's waiting nearby with a hammer just in case they were wrong and hear a knock from inside."

Point is, we know mobage get killed off pretty easily, and anime takes some time to produce. So if they make the decision anywhere during that time gap, they'd probably wanna hold off on actually going through with it.

Judging by the comments, nips are saying that players shouldn't be punished for fuckups caused by the ones running the game, so maybe the devs were considering rolling back? A lot of nips saying that they should just give the extra ten roll to the whole playerbase instead, and that new accounts should get the rolls too.

Right before the BGHS anime aired was pretty awful. Very lazy outfits with the awful gacha setup too, where previous outfits lingered until a girl got a new outfit. No gifts during that anniversary either I think. And they did swimsuits during the anime, but once one set was done, they switched back in the old crap, at least, I think that's the format they were doing at the time, they changed it up so much. Also reprints of Flora, but with new card art and the girl will finally say the skill if it's their main card. That reprint set is also where they put Misaki's two versions of that card, after it was filled with everyone else.

And I don't think they did anything to help ease in new players. No guaranteed reroll, no weapons to start with, and initial story chapters were still difficult to do with a poverty team, unless you ran Easy.
I felt like the in-game story going alongside the anime was a bit disconnected, but I don't think many other games that do an animu did such a main story tie-in. Also doesn't help that anime fans seem fickle, but maybe that's just /a/

The Black Robe trades the fire resistance of the Scarlet Robe for +2 CHA, so it's better when you're not doing Forest of Mystery since it'll help mages land status effects more often like Rouge's Shadow Chains or Volcano's Flame Whip. Also gives paralysis res which is kinda neat. They both boost INT the same amount, but Scarlet Robes gives +1 DEX instead of +2 CHA which I find less useful on mages as spell accuracy is based off INT instead of DEX iirc.

Pride of Eden is a literal kusoge in every sense. Putting aside the gacha aspect, the stamina to materials ratio is utterly shit and if you invested in your first 6 characters any slightly beyond the first tier or level 20, you'll have to stock another few days before you can raise another character up to the same tier.

If they don't change how the materials are farmed, especially the drop rate for lower tier uncap mats, this game is literally dead after the first week when 90% of the populace leaves.

I think I've done around 13 10 rolls already while being F2P and also spending crystals on 50-80 crystal tier stamina refreshes and 300 crystals on EXP potions.

So there's a lot to earn from initial content - especially if you climbed PVP early on before whales took all the top spots - but from dailies and whatnot the gem rate is looking painfully slow. Seeing how generous they are with events is what's going to either save or kill the game in my opinion.

I think the issue is that most of us are trying to play this game like it's some kind of race when I think the most optimal way to play is probably just super casually. Not only are there difficulty spikes but you eventually hit a point where you're level-gated in advancing from anything if you clear content too quickly so it's obvious the devs don't want people advancing to endgame too quickly. Think I'll just start treating this shit like Arknights where I play for half an hour a day to get dailies done and that's it. Depends on the level of Actual Gameplay™ you want

Honkai Impact 3rd is the best gameplay thing you can get. If you start this version then you can try to get Starlight Astrogos and some frags for her because she's an A-rank character you want to farm to SSS. Next version will have big powercreep so you could consider either saving up for it or rerolling for it.

There's also Genshin Impact that should be released this year that plays pretty much like a mmo and will get a release on basically every plataform instead of just Android/iOS

Punishing Gay Raven is worse than the above two in my opinion but it's going to get an English version sometime and it's basically worse Honkai.

Shironeko doesn't have as much gameplay as the above ones but you still have to play the game and do stuff. The gameplay is more simplified instead of whole action game like the above ones but it's still a great game with great girls, only downside is that it's never going to get an English ver or release. All the resources are Japanese too and the only translations you'll get are from kind anons here but I'd still reccomend it if you don't mind JP games.

Dragalia is basically a worse Shironeko in my opinion. It greatly recovered from their disastrous launch and now it's a game different from Shironeko that plays differently and has different goals/feel but they're still in the same genre so I'd put it as a worse shironeko.
But it's in English and is super generous so it might be worth a try if you find the characters cute.

Alice Gear Aegis has shooter gameplay where you control girls wearing mech suits and shoot up stuff so it doesn't lose in gameplay to the above but it has the same disclaimer as Shironeko. Japanese only but still worth trying.

Another Eden basically plays like a console JRPG that has a gacha built in. Looks giga stingy at a first glance but it's actually decently generous through campaigns and stuff so it's actually not bad to get someone you want or just collect strong units to clear all content. Don't expect to be rolling every gacha though, you'll have to plan and use your stuff smartly but it's better than it seems in terms of currency gain.

Stuff like Arknights has tower defense gameplay like a more modern Aigis but like 90% of your time will be farming stages on auto because you can have the AI record how you cleared the stage and repeat it automatically for auto farming. This means if your auto is shit or unstable then it will fail because it's just repeating what you did with a slight delay.

used ss albert, ss barbara, ss sophia, ss blue and s xmas flurry. first two could be anybody dealing dps, my albert certainly didn't do any parrying, though i guess i could've changed formation so he gets aggro

Because the devs have rarely given out that much currency themselves. Most rolls are earned through content that's already there so when you roll and get nothing you're exhausting your F2P sources for what feels like no reason. Rolls wouldn't feel too bad if devs were generously giving out a free ten every day or drowning you in freebie crystals.
Accelerating your progress is also tied to crystals so when you spend 1.5k on 9R1SR it feels like an utter waste when you could have spent it on things other than rolls.

Definitely get the armor since S grade and up is only from shops. And Sophia of course. Past that, I'd say the only important thing to get are the blue gems/crystals for skill awakening.
I probably won't get the bronze upgrade orbs for equipment. I did from the first Christmas shop because when I started they seemed pretty rare, but after grinding in the story a fair bit I'm not in a particular need for them atm. I have hundreds of the weapon ones, for example.

It feels a little scummy how the game lets you feel like your progressing smoothly in the beginning and then all of a sudden ramps up the difficulty on almost all content while also slowing your progression rate to a snail's pace unless you spend crystals. I don't think it's management being intentionally scummy than they are trying to ensure that people don't rush to endgame levels in half a month, burn out, and quit. It just feels like they are terrible at planning out pacing. The giant difficulty spikes are probably their idea of a wall to slow people down but it also acts like pressure telling players to get strong quicker, especially when you start getting gated from advancing in content due to being not high enough level and then when you finally are high enough the enemies in that area all have a power rating several tens of thousands higher than yours. It's like they're sending the message now that you're at this level, you should at least be THIS strong right?

That's only been true for the main story stages for me.
The 3rd chapter of the stages that drop character fragments and the equipment drop stages are pretty hard for the level you unlock them at. Expedition may be easy when you first unlock it but also starts ramping up in difficulty with each time you clear and it's apparent that your strength progression will not be able to keep up with expedition without spending. The rewards don't seem like they get any better either unless I'm remembering my previous clears wrong. If I'm not wrong then it's basically getting harder for the same reward which is honestly ass.

I know gacha currency prices being unreasonably high is nothing new but it still always makes me laugh when I see that a 10-roll is over ￥3,000 from the normal sets of packs you can buy.
