It's got nothing to do with that. You might have a case if you were arguing in favor of Ciel a few months ago, but Sakura was just straight up boring.

That said, after Fate/Zero and Kariya I learned to appreciate Sakura a little more but she's by far the least compelling of the heroines. Add to that the painfully dull slice of life stuff (seriously it was painful watching them feign ignorance and try to act like everything was normal even if it was important to the plot) and suddenly she doesn't have very many fans. She's still hot, I guess, but that's all she really has going for her.

Shirou had no way of knowing for sure that people would die without him being able to save them. Killing one person because other people MIGHT die is villainy. It's giving up and being too much of a pussy to even try to save everyone.

It's clearly explained that the Shadow is a manifestation of Avenger's will, and it feeds on people to get the power to be born in the world.
Sakura is connected to Avenger throught the command spell and throught the command spell the Shadow manifests itself in Sakura's body, but the Shadow is not Sakura, play the damn game again.
The only reason Sakura feels guilty about it is because she had unconsciously realized the Shadow was born from her and she didn't stop it.

He admitted that he knew she was the perpetrator of the events long before they reached the scale of thousands. He didn't do shit about it until it reached said scale. There's no way to argue he's not partly responsible. He KNEW more would die and he IGNORED it.

First off, Kohaku doesn't need an excuse. She did the right thing.

Second, Zouken, Kotomine, and Sakura herself all stated that she was ONE with all the evils of the world. She was evil in nature, unquestionably.

No she wasn't, the whole point of all HF's scenario was to bring back Avenger in the world.
Zouken plan was to use Sakura to control Avenger.

That was because Avenger was way way way too much powerful to be controlled directly, and anyone linked to him with the command spell would end up being the one controlled.

Point is, while Sakura always gad evil intent towards those who cause her suffering, she never acted upon it.
She snapped when shit hit the fan, and became drunk with power too.
The point is that if she REALLY wished to stop it, she possibly could(or at least hinder it), but at that point she has snapped and been corrupted.

Also, protecting Sakura is not an act of villainy.
It may be stupid, but that's a different issue.

a) stupid , because its distracting me from doing something productive

Ok, Iskander is close just for being such a bro, but it's a very close race.

As is proven opinions tend to get stronger while arguing them so let me just recall what my thoughts were prior to this discussion .
First off I love Sakura as a character. As a literary device she sets her story arc above everything else in F/sn.
That doesn't mean I have o like her as a person.
Shes deceptive, submissive and reliant on others opinions. None of these make her a bad person there just some major flaws in her character.
I think what redeems her is the fact that shes the only human being inhabiting a world of super-heroes.
No other character is less than perfect, as much as you call Shiro an idiot you'll still go fuck yeah once he beats the shit out of Berserker. Whereas Sakura doesn't even manage to be a proper damsel in distress. Admit it, if a character like her would show up in some normal soap you wouldn't even bat an eye but compared to the rest of the cast she falls short.
I think its meant snub peoples expectations, the whole game builds her up as the harmless housewife only to shove your nose in the fact that you were just deluding yourself and that people aren't what you expect.
HF elaborates an this in a way that none of the other routes do. This is the basis :Archer condemns her judging the worst in her , Shiro forgives her judging her by her best.
