I found the perfect device for practicing my japanese
Naturally I love video games. So what I will do is go to twitch tv and pick a game I’m somewhat interested in. I’ll search for someone streaming the game with a Japanese tag and the most important part I think is to make sure they’ve only got like 1 to 10 viewers.
After that I’ll just talk to the streamer in chat either about what’s going on in the game or just small talk in general, etc. Today I had an interesting conversation about the streamers horse named tako lol, I think the game really helps bring up random topics. I’ve tried chat apps and they usually never get passed the first couple hi how are you what’s your name etc.

I found the perfect device for practicing my japanese

Naturally I love video games. So what I will do is go to twitch tv and pick a game I’m somewhat interested in. I’ll search for someone streaming the game with a Japanese tag and the most important part I think is to make sure they’ve only got like 1 to 10 viewers.

After that I’ll just talk to the streamer in chat either about what’s going on in the game or just small talk in general, etc. Today I had an interesting conversation about the streamers horse named tako lol, I think the game really helps bring up random topics. I’ve tried chat apps and they usually never get passed the first couple hi how are you what’s your name etc.

So recently, I've been watching anime for listening practice and I noticed that, more often than not, the characters are using 「あんた」as a way to say "you."

If I remember correctly, using 「あなた」is already considered kind of rude to say when referring to people, so I can only assume that 「あんた」is both more casual and more rude to say.

So my question is, when did this start becoming more popular to use, and, while I understand I probably shouldn't use the Japanese I hear in anime when speaking to people, is this something people use in everyday life?
