Honestly, what even is their dynamic like in canon? At this point i find it hard to remember due to how uncommon it is for Koumakan stuff to pop up in official works nowadays (Besides Sakuya by herself) and how tons of doujins portray it completely differently from each other.

They have a really strange dynamic. Sometimes they enjoy bantering and teasing each other (e.g. CoLA chapter 4 & 5, SaBND chapter 7 & 8). Other times, like in SSiB or in some of their appearances at banquets in newer manga it feel like they act more like mother/daughter. In CDS when Sakuya was being accused of poisoning Patchouli, Remi seemed really distraught about it.
