ERIKANTRICE MANIFESTO
https://pastebin.com/eDZWPZAX

guys i have read saku and fuck it must be called UMINEKO ERIKANTRICE
Saku is a gigant riddle for erikantrice

1st part: this is a request of help of beatrice to not stop thinking and search the real truth, this is why Dlanor public it, why public something that must reach 1 person if everyone know the solution?
simple because no one find it until now

the game of the first part can be solved with Kanon and George culprit, in fact all the game is a great riddle about George Culprit.
Shannon disappier meanwhile is with george and george dont die even if he is part of 2nd twiligth, he exit at nigth but nothing happened and stop Jessica to inspect kanon corpse andforce people proceed to the next room.
then another riddle is that Shannon cant kill herself because in no way she can put a fucking stake inside her head after being shot in the head

2nd part is a great riddle about erika=kanon
Ange confirm that erika is a fantasy another personality then Virgilius|erikanon is confirmed to be the 19th man like in erikantrice.

the only part that support shkanontrice is the flashback who confirm the relationship between Battler and Shannon.
>muh ahahahah erikantrice is deny
well no this scene isnt a full illusion just subtitute yasu/kanon with shannon and everything is fine, just ryukishi use shannon according with the official truth and here there is the problem when i argue with shakanontricefags they told to me that battler never loved shannon but here he love yasu like in my theory

STRANGE NO!!!!!

i post many erikantrice saku screenshot in my booru here
https://erikce.booru.org
soon the new part of my manifesto of saku

One of the things I appreciate most about Ryukishis writing is how appearances, social personas, are treated. It's not just something to get out of the way so Ryukishi can explore some fabled "true self" underneath - the performance is a big part of who his characters are.
Krauss keeping up the appearance of a clever, shrewd, ruthless businessman is necessary for his survival, and the reader gets to experience that from the outside, as someone who is taken in by his act. This gives you a different appreciation for the gap between how he is seen by his siblings and who he is, it makes you understand why it's there, and why overcoming it isn't as simple as "just talking it out". Likewise, Rosa isn't just an abusive parent pretending to be nice in public, her abusive behaviour is often the result of how she wants to appear. The way she reacts when mask threatens to be shattered makes her who she is.
It's not the usual game of the author deceiving the reader/the characters mechanistically. Appearances usually aren't invalidated, they are recontextualized and charged with different, enriched meaning. What appears as Satoko being annoying to first-time readers becomes endearing once you know who she is and what her antics mean, but she's still Satoko, not some different person hidden behind the mask.

The "emotional riddle" or whatever was indeed pretty dumb. Hell, Kyrie herself could have probably solved it if she took it seriously, in EP3 I think she says she hadn't really seriously tried to solve it before. And I'm pretty sure a big part of why nobody solved it before was because of a lack of a real motivation more than them being dumb or emotionally immature or whatever- yeah, the gold or whatever, but did it really exist? Would they really get it if they solved it? Hell, was it even solvable in the first place? They just didn't try hard enough. Similar to how Battler didn't try hard enough to solve Beato's riddles until he had actual confirmation it was solvable, in EP5. When they actually try, they solve it quickly.

So legit goat tier question here:so why is it that if there has to be exactly 18 people on the island, that there are only 17 accounted for? By all rights even according to the official answer yasu is ultimately one person larping as multiple people, but is still ultimately one person, otherwise that's 3 separate personalities roaming the island pushing it over 18, but it's still 18 people written in red so it's the guaranteed truth. Is ryukishi a hack or is there an 18th person?

Here's a theory:
If we assume that Erika is classed as "not a person" as the basis for that ??+Erika=17 statement, then could there be others included in that same category? For example, is Erika is classed as "Meta-not-person":
"If we include you, Erika, then we must also include these 5 other meta-not-people that are just like you. Since we have 11 normal people, adding you, and by extension the other 5 meta-not-people, means 17."

Either this screws up a lot, or I'm just stupid and overthinking something really simple. Probably the latter.

>> No.24045997

>>24045906
I don't really think so? Erika is an actual character in episode 5 and 6, she's not like Kinzo who is an illusion or the magic characters. She's not even in the same tier as Yasu's larp characters. She literally exists in EP5 and EP6, without any ' ', and she must be included no matter how you count. There are no other characters in her situation. I believe you are overthinking it to be honest lol.

>> No.24046050

>>24045906
What are you even talking about? The basis for ??+Erika=17 is that if you remove Erika, that obviously means there are 16 people (17-1). Kinzo is dead and isnt counted, so to make 16, that would mean that two people are actually one: Shannon/Kanon. Erika is counted like every other character that is physically present. No idea what big brain theory you're even trying to conjure up.

The strongest point of the shkanontrice theory are the last 2 red truths of the sixth game:
-erika "I am the visitor, the 18th human on Rokkenjima!!:"
-Battler "Even if you do join us-" ""That makes 17 humans."
no other theory has been able to refute this point.
shannon = kanon seems the only solution because according to the red of lambda:"Furudo Erika only increases it by one person. Besides her, the number of people on this island is exactly the same as it was in the previous games."
so if erika increases the number of people by 1 people must necessarily be 16 !!!!
incredible shkanontrice is irrefutable how can you, just a mortal, contest this without magic?

The answer is simple!!!!
What if the +1 person providing erika had already been counted?
{insert any human} only increases it by one person. Besides {insert any human}, the number of people on this island is exactly the same as it was in the previous games."
erika = kanon allows us to destroy the foundations of shkanontrice, now we can interpret the last 2 reds of the 6th game as:
-erika:"I am an Human!!!"
-battler"no you're just yasu's fantasy of being a detective, you are not human"
and Erika disappeared.

7's lack of Battler, Beato, and the rest gives it a slow start and can be off-putting until you get invested in Will and Lion as leads.
Ange's whole arc was great. People who say the question arcs are the only good ones are usually just upset about the direction the series took later on. Nah I really loved the whole fantasy vs mystery and what is truth or not. Beato's game was showing how two truths can exist as long as the cat box remains closed, while it originally started out as only trying to disprove fantasy, that wasn't the point of what they were ultimately doing. When I was reading episode 7 I actually was getting upset because I thought the VN was going to give us a definite truth and negate all the fantasy elements we saw up to that point, but with episode 8 and the ending in general, R07 didn't want for fans to only interpret the story has having one truth.

The anime is disliked because it's rushed and omits many things that add more depth to the characters, which are the very core of Umineko. Plus the art and animation is very lackluster, but what people usually bring up first is the pacing.

The truth of episode 5 is that it was a plot by everyone else to force Natsuhi to admit that she was hiding Kinzo's death, right? So towards the end of the game, when Erika presented her theory on the murders, why did everyone let Eva hit Natsuhi and Erika verbally abuse Natsuhi so much if the murders didn't actually happen (to everyone's knowledge)?

Firstly, if I recall correctly, that red truth was made at the end of the fifth game, in the Court of Illusions. By then, the six from the first twilight were actually killed, albeit later, by Sayo. The red truth can therefore hold true for the six's corpses when they were truly killed later. However, the reader is tricked into thinking that the red was supposed to apply to when Battler discovered the "corpses."
Secondly, Natsuhi cannot actually be the culprit. Virgilia told Battler that in the red truth during the Court of Illusions scene.
Finally, in the Episode 8 manga, Erika debates Battler over the fifth game. She creates her theory, which has the victims of the first twilight pretending to be dead. While she only states these in blue truth, Battler does not refute any of these.

This Blue Truth is the easiest solution and this was also BAttler's basis to counter Erika's theory, It is still possible that the guesthouse victims died in the first night in their beds. And it was confirmed Genji never left the mansion. Also, I somewhat put some trust in Natsuhi's POV. Therefore, Krauss could be killed in the mansion, too (in the morning). I think Battler only has a vague idea of this gameboard, enough to counter "Natsuhi is the culprit" theory. You can approach EP5 in more ways other than the victims are playing dead.

I don't think so. Nobody says, before EP6 at least, "wow, Shkanon is so obvious, it must be a red herring". They just don't come up with the idea at all.
Of course, after it starting to actually be obvious in EP6 and EP7, a lot of people think it's cheap, etc, and they hate it. But that's after the game spoonfeeds it to us.
I'm not really sure why people bring Mion/Shion into this though. I kind of get some similarities, but K1's suspicion they might be a single person doesn't last long at all. The problem of their identities is totally different from Shkanon.

Don't know why you bothered mentioning that Shannon is flat, that's a given. Though castration at a young age does lead to men developing small puffy breasts. Castration obviously means that none of the male related puberty changes will come about, but puberty still occurs just the same. Lack of a growth spurt is thus most likely completely unrelated, she just happens to be a person who didnt grow much. Castrated boys actually end up growing taller than they would otherwise, so Sayo is just unlucky in that regard. Reading Higurashi. It's definitely got a different mood from Umineko. Instead of 18 innocent-looking people and a Person X hiding in the shadows, with our MC being the detective, the MC is the likely victim, with a whole town of Persons X and the High School Girl Mafia stalking him. Also, unlike Sayo or Eva, even Rena's 'good' form is really unpleasing.

If I were Keiichi, I'd orchestrate some incident that would get his parents to move out. Or hide in the woods and fake my death, maybe leave a tooth and a few toes somewhere. Or just smash Rena's schizo face in and get a comfy spot at a psychiatric ward.

Yeah, as soon as it became clear that Meow is working with Toujirou, I got the sense that the story was going to be... oddly boring. The kind of thing that sounds amazing in your head but which turns out to be subpar once you write it down.

He's both treading the wrong kind of new ground and abusing the techniques he's gotten overly familiar with at the same time. Even the guys making the soundtrack are confused, which is probably why we have so few memorable tracks so far. I want to say that Ryukishi's characterization skills are as good as ever and carrying Ciconia right now, but I've not been given any reason to care about anyone other than the AOU characters, nor any reason to believe that the direction he'll be taking the others in will be in any way interesting, especially if phase 1 is supposed to comprise the vast majority (or even the entirety) of the question arcs this time around.

Why does the possibility of it not being real make it hard for you to get invested? Half of Umineko wasn't real yet it still had value.

Anyone got that image of Ciconia's factions and motivations? I need a refresher.

Not him, but I did need a short break after episode 1 because I was genuinely disappointed that magic was real. I had to readjust my expectations before I could dive back into it, and I ultimately still didn't like it as much as I would've hoped because I couldn't get invested in Sayo('s plight).

Then again, I guess my case is an odd one. I went through Higurashi many many years ago, without really building up much in the way of awareness of the writer himself. I only knew a very small handful of people who had gone through Umineko, and the kind of impression of it that I got from them was never a good one. It wasn't until early last year that I actually read it, a whole 10 years after I read Higurashi and 5 years after I read Lucia's route from Rewrite (the one that really made me aware of Ryukishi), and I never really had anyone to discuss these works with.

But for the most part magic isn't real. The only beings potentially capable of "real" magic are ones like Featherine who don't follow any rules. Otherwise magic is usually used as a type of metaphor for something or other. Nothing is just thrown in there without reason. Everything we see has some purpose.

Exactly, which is why I still got a lot out of it in the end. The end of episode 1 is still a wham point though because at that point you don't know quite how far into supernatural territory it's going to go.

I enjoy that Steam knows their sprites are shit to the point that the header images and everything else for the games use Ryukishi's originals.

They do? For me they're all mixed.
Store page uses pachinko sprites.
Header in game library uses ps3???
Trading cards use pachinko.
Achievements use pachinko.
Emoticon items use originals.
Profile backgrounds use pachinko.

Is it worth playing Higurashi in french? I heard it's really good. I'm thinking about either playing it in french my first time or just playing it english first and eventually french.

Rika is actually in love with K1. The real reason she went through all those fragments was to find one where K1 was a pedo so that she would have a chance against the other girls. The real problem isn't just finding a fragment with a pedo K1, but a fragment with a pedo K1 where the tragedy can also be avoided. But when she finally found one, he went after little miss humiliation personified instead of her...

If you're comfortable with french, even fluent, I highly recommend you to read it in french.
Otherwise, if your french is high-school level, it might be tough in some scene because of the vocabulary that it use. But it's still a good way to improve your french!

I'm having trouble finding something. There was a R07 short story that had a character that was a lot like Takano Miyo. I think it was in a forest or something or some kind of village. If you did or didn't do certain things you would end up dead. I can only remember those small details.
