What appears as Satoko being annoying to first-time readers becomes endearing once you know who she is and what her antics mean, but she's still Satoko, not some different person hidden behind the mask.

Reading Higurashi. It's definitely got a different mood from Umineko. Instead of 18 innocent-looking people and a Person X hiding in the shadows, with our MC being the detective, the MC is the likely victim, with a whole town of Persons X and the High School Girl Mafia stalking him. Also, unlike Sayo or Eva, even Rena's 'good' form is really unpleasing.
