I'm trying to learn japanese listening and there are some stuffs I always have difficulty telling apart, for example:
た/だ
と/ど
か/が
ち(ゃ/ゅ/ょ)/じ(ゃ/ゅ/ょ)
ょ/ょう
ゅ/ゅう
This makes dictionary lookup quite a guesswork. Any tips?

Hi, I'm 22F and a beginner to AJATT/learning Japanese in general. I'm currently in my second week of doing lazy kanji/RRTK and plan on continuing my studies in Japanese for at least a couple of years. I was hoping to find an accountability buddy so that we could discuss our progress, goals, encourage each other and most importantly check-in on each other to make sure we're doing what we aim to do every couple of days. I'm in the UK if timezones matter for anyone, but I'm usually up at unusual times of the day anyway.

Ok since every one else here sucks at helping,
Go find a Minimal Pair deck for Japanese. I know there is one on Ankiweb and one that was professionally made( but that cost money, US$12). And use it like any other deck.

Minimal Pairs are words that are Pronounced the same except for one phoneme ( sound unit).
ie voiced / unvoiced K/G or long vowel short vowel, or vowels that sound the same, or even vary similar placement. This will help train your ear in to determining which phoneme is being uttered.

You might be surprised at how much you can learn from simply watching a Japanese TV show with no subtitles. Your unconscious mind is a pattern recognition machine. Once you start exposing it to Japanese, it will immediately get to work decoding the sound system, grammar, and lexicon of the language. You’ll slowly start understanding more and more, but won’t be able to explain why. This is the counter-intuitive mechanism of language acquisition. It might be something that’s hard to fully grasp until you’ve started experiencing it for yourself.

I worked with this guy, who stayed for about two years with his buddy in Japan. His friend was living there and teaching an advanced writing and conversational English class. Neither one of them knew any Japanese when they arrived in Japan.

They were both young, decent looking guys, who basically went there to meet chicks, have some good times and get laid. My coworker held a few part time jobs and he eventually got a factory job to help pay the rent. In their free time, they hung out almost exclusively with women and they did very well with the ladies, because they were foreigners and the young Japanese women just wanted to have fun flings with American guys.

The two guys started to learn a lot of Japanese very quickly, because they were very motivated to pick up women and they always had women sleeping over and teaching them how to speak Japanese.

One night, after about 18 months in Japan, my coworker and his English teacher buddy were invited out to dinner with my co-worker's new group of male friends from his factory job. They were eating, drinking and having a good time.

Finally, after about an hour of drinks and conversation with the guys from his job, my coworker said to one of his new friends, who spoke very fluent English, "How come you guys keep laughing, every time we say something in Japanese? I know that we are kind of funny guys, but not everything that we say is funny". His friend replied, "We think that you guys speak Japanese very well for how long you've been here, but it's kind of funny to hear you speak Japanese, because you sound like two women when you talk. You need to spend more time around Japanese men, because, we don't talk like that. It's especially funny to hear you talk about having fun nights, going out and picking up women, when you both sound a little bit gay".

So, basically, these two guys had spent their first year and half in Japan, absorbing the speech patterns, inflections and conversational mannerisms of women. My coworker's new friend from the factory laughed and said, "But, hey, congratulations, man. Your gay Japanese is excellent!" That put the whole table into tears of laughter. My coworker couldn't stop laughing when he told me this story.
