So the bar isn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. It's definitely a bit wobbly, but not enough for it to be a problem. I played a few 16s and it seems to be holding up well. I'm too out of practice to try 17s and 18s at the moment. The pad itself needs some modification to make the sensitivity perfect, but overall I'm thrilled with this.

Took almost exactly a month from the day of ordering. Penny mod + some tape in the corners of each panel makes everything real nice and sensitive while minimizing misfires. I had a Cobalt Flux back in the day and this Polish pad is absolutely on par with it, if not outright better. I really like the design of the sensors. i use both shift keys for scratch and "zxc [space] ,./" for 1-7 respectively

No-life PS2 guy here again. I'll be getting my PS2 back again soon, and I managed to find the CS ISOs, so now I'm wondering about something I remember from many years ago. In those days, I used swap magic to play the actual discs, imported, but around that same time, I had an HDD with, I believe it was HDDLoader.
Anyway, I remember trying to load a few IIDX isos on there and there were problems with desync. The games were basically unplayable. I know IIDX is niche, but maybe there's a workaround, or a method that works? I don't want to pay $200+ for an Empress disc.
Failing that, is there a PS2 emulator config that works?

The network option is SMB, not FTP. And I don't use either because they're slower than a disc, I haven't heard if they work for any Bemani games. If I had to use a slim I would burn discs.

I'll be getting my KOC out of storage soon, and I had a few questions. I remember being able to play up to 9s back in the day, (didn't know about Dan ranking) on the KOC, but is there any reason it wouldn't be able to carry me up through 12s, or will I have to upgrade at some point?
Also, the most obscure question of all: has anyone tried running IIDX isos on a non-launch PS3 through the software emulation? Modded with PS3HEN obviously. And I think there are adapters for the controller, although maybe I could get a used PS2 for the price of one of those adapters. I dunno, I'm just throwing around ideas. I don't want to play with KB anymore if I don't have to.

Yes, you want to play standing if at all possible. Your arms should be just slightly angled down - about 5-15 degrees - and you should let them hover a bit above the keys when idle so that they're almost parallel.
