It's a traditional gacha, with FGO-style combat but Azur Lane resource management and activities.
I think it's decent if you don't mind the lack of content, there will be a lot of grinding.

I feel like there isn't enough content right now to properly judge the game beyond the most basic mechanics. Even the level curve right now is fucked since the game clearly isn't designed around people jumping from difficulty to difficultya fter chapter 1. The jump from hard to lunatic is 20 levels. The only valid strategy is hyper offense and characters won't even get all their skills because the mats needed to upgrade are way too rare at the moment. I certainly had fun playing through chapter 1 in normal mode tho which required pretty much no grinding.

One thing that is going to suck even in the finished game is the character drop rate. It's so low for everyone.

How is Alice? Trying to figure out the best party to start lunatic mode. So far I unlocked Reimu, Marisa, Yukari, Yomou, Reisen, Cirno, Alice and Sanae

Good when paired with Yin Attacker like Patchouli since when she Boost she buffs party's Yin Atk. Her 2nd spell also could reduce enemy's Yin Def.
No Element Atk though and she only gets AoE from her Last Word which is hard to get.

Reisen is amazing against both Yukari and Kasen so you should train her. As for against mobs, as long as you graze I think Yukari + 2 AoEs work really well.

This game is insanely stingy with character drops even by gacha standards. I've rolled a dozen times and gotten nothing but copies of Reimu and Marisa, if I got characters at all. Most games will at least hand you a bare minimum to grind through the game with but rerolls are practically mandatory here

Marisa can carry you all the way through hard mode and lunatic is not even worth doing at all at the moment since drop rates are still shit and it probably wasn't meant to be done at launch unless you want to grind for days. The game also suffers from having a small pool of characters and that pool having a few truly awful characters It would probably get better with more characters to choose from later down the line.

Ran has 200 higher Yang atk than Youmu on a Yang centric spellcard.
Ability 1 and 2 give as much Yang stk up stack as Youmu, Ability 3 give her Crit acc up.
Graze for another Yang atk up stack.
2 passive that give acc up and yang atk up when receiving damage.
Team acc buff on SC1.
Neutral damage which works on everyone.

She has all the kit Youmu has that made Youmu the best DPS before, except she has acc up and crit acc up as a plus. Her only weakness is that she don't do AOE damage.

You know what would make gatcha like these suck less? If you could trade character cards between players.

Just popping in to do dailies goes relatively fast. As long as you have a character with all-targeting spell cards you can clear the combat bits fast enough but for some reason this is the only gacha game without a speed up button. There's an auto but it's generally less fast and reliable than just playing yourself and spamming spell cards.

In terms of overall F2P friendliness it seems like about 6/10. The character roster is slim enough and the rates are low enough that you can't take a full party for granted. You aren't allowed to re-use dupes as party members either. If you don't get enough roster variety off your earlier rolls, the game can be pretty merciless as you'll be crippled by low manpower and an inability to target certain weaknesses. But if you do, it should be alright. I'm not sure about this ticket you're talking about, but there is that system where you get points for rolling in limited time gachas and if you get the absurd amount of points they're asking for, you get to pick one of the advertised characters. But unless you whale it's pretty much irrelevant since they're asking you to save up 15 10rolls worth of gacha currency, which would probably take months for a F2P even at full grind.

As for the premium currency, they seem very stingy about giving it to you through normal means like finishing missions, but it does the Azur Lane thing where you can get it in expedition drops. They also seem to appear as rewards much more often than AL. That should about cover it

You get one right at the start with a guaranteed character and then another free as part of a forced tutorial thing. Should have around 3 10 rolls in your gift box after the tutorial too.

Best characters you can get from the guaranteed roll are Youmu or Cirno (Personally I prefer Youmu). Reisen is good too but I'd only start with her if you intend to reroll for Youmu & Cirno on the other rolls. Patchouli is also really great but she's not in the guaranteed pool.
imo you should try to reroll as much as you can while the Youmu & Cirno banner is still up for another day since getting an account with both and some extra should be doable (Although the rate up in this game is really shit so it might take awhile).

Marisa is good but you get a free one so I wouldn't recommend starting with her as your guaranteed.

It's good but you might get bullied on the current final boss without a character to break her (Patchy/Reisen/Lily/Medicine are the characters who can).
You can reach her pretty fast but there's an event starting later today so you might be strong enough to brute force her after you're done with that.
For now focus on doing the maid Youmu missions since they end once the event starts.

For the strengthening picture cards missions you get the resources refunded if you sell them after upgrading so you can just upgrade your 3*s without having to grind much mats and burn them without regret.
I think you also end up going past the specific story missions faster than you clear the 5 battle missions so you'll probably have to go back through and revisit some stages.

Done some research for the event.
Event's boss stage can give you 3x event points everyday. Somehow the 3x bonus is resetted when the day changed, so check those quests everyday.

Sakuya Hard : 35 points, 4* event's efuda.
Sakuya Lunatic : 65 points, 5* event's efuda.

Lvl. 49 Hard : 32 points, gold loots.
Lvl. 79 Lunatic : 60 points, gold loots.

Marisa is amazing against bosses (Sakuya and Patchouli both have Star weakness). While Reisen, Patchouli, Youmu are good at clearing the mobs before you meet the boss.

Reisen needs her spell 1 max boost to break it and none of the other characters you're using have the ability to.

It's reliant on the shot having the extra property to break the barriers. Reisen's spell 1 can break frozen barriers at boost 1 and additionally electric barriers at max boost and her spell 2 can break darkness and poison barriers at max boost.
Another example is Cirno doesn't just break the enemies she freezes just because her spells are blue she needs to reach a certain boost level on her spells so they have the shot with the ability to break frozen barriers.

It's pretty much a carbon copy of Azur Lane's food system. Higher tiers of food add a temporary % bonus to the XP gain, and if you're really desperate, you can put only one girl in to maximize her gains, since it cuts the per girl XP a bit for each one you add.
