Hey so from what I've seen /jp/ is pretty much /touhou/ and now I want to get into Touhou too. Where should I start? Should I play the games, or read the manga? Also where do these weird touhou heads come from?

The point of touhou is not about the games, but how much useless fanart you can collect of little girls with stupid costumes. That, along with a whole lot of bad techno remixes and horrible fanfiction, you can spend months mindlessly entertaining yourself with cutesy japanese stuff with little-to-no substance, kinda like every other mass-marketed Japanese phenomenon. You don't have to worry about the plot either, since there is none, and as far as you're concerned, the games are too hard to play and just distract you from all the supa-kawaii moe that touhou is really all about.

Also the heads come from 2ch, where some guy tried to draw the girls in shift_jis and messed up badly, some guy though it was hilarious and made this picture, and things just got rolling from there.
