What are /jp/ meetups like? I main other boards and have been to a few meets in that community but am starting to visit here too. There are a few, I think.

Of the ones I know of, there's a group that made up of mostly oldfags that live in Japan + other regulars. These people will show you the ropes, but maybe it'll be too /jp/ if you haven't been on /jp/ for long. They use a line group(s) (there are a lot). Also the average Japanese level is usually higher due to more people living in japan.

Another group usually forms made up of mostly newer people that aren't necessarily /jp/ and they seem to like going to mogra for some reason. They use discord(s). (There are a lot)

As for activities, going to an izakaya like kin no kura, going to HUB, walking around akihabara, mostly talking about what you got that day, talking about 4chan, irl shitposting, "who's moot", "This is the reddit meetup rite?"

Then, if you like something, click the link in the comments to the artists pixiv/blog/website and follow them. The uploader usually includes a link to the artist, but if not you can just search for the japanese title/circle name.

That depend on your wish list. I mostly buy from small circle, since I want to support them, and only line up to big circle when something really awesome get publish that time. So I always arrived at the comiket at 10AM-11AM.
Most of people I know that want to buy lot of popular stuff like tawawa, asanagi...catch the first train in the morning and line up for like 5-6 hours on entrance. That's pretty hardcore and I don't think I can handle it.
