I think Dancerush is just not a tournament friendly game. Playing purely for score is not possible since most songs are easily EXC'd. Freestyle is totally subjective and polarizing. And any combination of those two elements seems to have not really worked so far.

5b and 6b just use the same as for 4b but extended by one button for your ring fingers. For Side Lanes I use whatever is below my index finger. (B and . in my case). Red 8B notes on Space and right Alt works great for me, but depending on your hands/keyboard your milage my vary. Something for your thumbs is good though. Some people use right hand on numpad and num 0 for right red.

Finally got Gamo2's Divaller controller. Not sure who here is interested in Diva but it's really great. Full metal construction, touch pad is like the arcade with the plexiglass over it and all. Has presets for all the old Diva games. I got mine with all arcade components.

It does, because PGREAT is now 4 frames that aren't as susceptible to huge rounding errors, but that doesn't mean there aren't tons of bugs. For example, S-RAN doesn't create jacks closer than 4 frames, but they forgot to adjust that for 120 FPS, so now 150 BPM 32nds turn into jacks on S-RAN because they're 6 frames apart.

As far as rhythm games on Steam go it's one of the best, but that doesnt mean much. It's ok though. The charts are all made for controller so they don't go super difficult. People often complain how lenient the timing is, but really thats just as far as misses go. It's super easy to clear songs by spamming, but for good scores you still need to be decently accurate. But its not the hardest rhythm game to begin with anyways.

If you're looking for stuff on PC, Etterna is your best bet for 4K and its free. Lunatic Rave is the go to Beatmania sim afaik. If you feel like spending money, DJMax Respect V is the best you can get, as long as you're not unlucky and have offset issues with it. Tapsonic Bold is the next best thing, but pretty bare bones. Not really worth the money if you're just trying stuff out and there are the free alternatives.

Yeah, it's pretty taboo to talk about it, but I can't imagine a new player wanting to ever look up to the top western players. Basically this. You can get as good as you want, but being a player in the west and wanting to be a topranker is a ridiculous dream. You will have to throw your entire life away to even get close to being recognized by Asia as a good player, and even then, I'm almost certain IIDX KAC doesn't take non-Japanese players.

It's ridiculous, and the people at the top of their game don't paint a pretty picture for those who look up to them like you said.

In the end something needs to change but there will most likely be no change until the next generation of top western players rolls in. All we can do is hope that they are better.

im assuming youre mainly talking about motivation to improve by mentioning top tier competition as iidx didnt go through a lot of paradigm shift except wristing evident by how most of the advice thrown out is either 'play more' or 'use random'. I personally dont think its a big deal in this age because you can easily access top scores and calculate your bpi and also play bms to stay competitive with others which is honestly the most important tool to improve in iidx.

Yes, but it depends almost entirely on your particular AC setup. There are multiple monitor sizes at multiple distances scattered across R1s.

You can however convert between the two using similar triangles and geometry. Your eye detects angles, so as long as the angle subtended by the lane remains the same, it'll look mostly the same.

e.g. if your AC monitor is 37" and you play 30" away from it at the arcade, you can convert this by taking (24"/37") * 30" = 19.5" viewing distance. WN should remain the same.

You can play at a closer distance if you scale the monitor down with black borders using the same math.
