Anyone ever whittled/carved anything /jp/ related? I've got a nice hunting knife, but I'm not particularly skilled at carving. Once you have a knife, the medium of wood itself is cheap enough, you can just go outside and pick some up. It'd be fun to carve a Touhou some day.

Maybe comparable to putting together a garage kit or something. The appeal of figurines is being nice and pre-painted though. In some cases being able to customize them, or even if they're like Gunpla or something, putting them together (in a non complicated way). Sculpting/carving/whittling is probably most comparable to making a 3d sculpt or something, or maybe paper craft.

That boils down to whether or not you appreciate your own carving. If you're carving something as a commodity again (e.g those Mexican/SE Asian/etc artisans who mass produce "quaint" wood carvings) it may be loveless. But if you do put a lot of time and effort into it and appreciate the end result, it should be very special to you.

Carving a fetish (pun intended) could be a similar situation. If you create something solely for sexual gratification, then it may not find much appreciation outside of immediate sexual gratification. Do all porn artists take pride in their work outside of the profits/Twitter views/immediate sexual gratification? There are plenty who know how to draw and they put out works like that for a living by monetizing it. But if you carve something because you really like the object of your carving, then that should make it something far more special to you.

yes, when you pretend to throw a ball, you see that theres a bit of a "recoil". and when you dont recoil, your arm stays stiff. with this being said if she follows the motion and bends down a little that inertia is "completed" and she shoul then return to the 1st position, while still including that "rest" frame, as aseen with her hair.

That only happens with post-vista paint, for the record. Using XP/97 paint's brushes will give you an effect similar to the "pencil" tool in photoshop, being anti-aliased and allowing you to fill it without the white lines.

Mmmh, I would suggest changing the later frames so that her face briefly faces away from the viewer, having the head movement stop abruptly like that makes it feel a bit off.
But otherwise, pretty good stuff! You don't break model in a jarring kinda way and it's a pretty solid effort.

Took the trad drawn armour and combined it with a more polished digital linework of the body. The feet are kinda off, but I do like the overall result quite a bit.

Keep going and you'll get better at colouring.
Visit pixiv and keep an eye on artists streaming, you can get a tip or two from watching their work.
One of the best artists at doing color is Makoto Uno, but he does only futanari which isnt for everyone.

I'm sure you'll instantly know what's up with it just by looking at this pic. But here's a short explanation:
from the perspective of the roof (cage?), I guessed the eye level is around somewhere below their necks, anything below this line, we will more likely to see its top plane (superior plane). For the cheetah's right foot, it's more or less correct because the lower half of the leg is curled back, which will make us see the inferior plane of the foot. For the left foot, however, the lower half leg is dropped straight down naturally.
Try doing this in real life, sit naturally on a chair (similar to them), then push your feet up using your toes, can you easily see the inferior plane of your feet?
