How long did it take you to "get" Japanese at a fundamental level? I've studied it for 3 months regularly or so, and I don't get many longer sentences because of the various inflections and my lack of vocabulary. I get sentences kind of within what I read, but I still have to look in a grammar guide often to collect the pieces somewhat.

So I've been trying to play Pokemon Ultra Sun in Japanese and everything is perfectly fine except for attack descriptions.
I simply can't tell for sure what each move does, especially the status effect stuff.
Any tips for this? Any games which are even easier than a game designed for 7 year olds?

However in the last 2 years i use little to no japanese at all due to some personal reasons, so now i am kinda not good at listening and speaking japanese, reading and writing is still okay but i want to improve them either.
