Marimite has been a staple of /jp/ since it's inception, janitors.

Oh, nevermind, I didn't realize that 10 pages were deleted due to that spammer. Whatever, a new thread needed to be created anyway.

>> No.2222906

You mustn't engage them head-on, it will only make things worse.
What I'm afraid of is, that there's simply not enough attention for it in /jp/. Threads linger, ignored and abandoned of discourse.

i could never get into it really. When does it start getting better?

If you don't like the theme you won't enjoy the show. Nothing wrong with that.
I suppose you got lured into watching it because of some guy going "HURR DURR LESBIENS".

First season is kinda rough. Second and third get better but if you really can't stand it I don't recommend continuing.

It's like pretty cure in that it doesn't contain any actual yuri, right?

There's at least two "canon lesbians". Rest is undertones. There's nothing more explicit than a kiss.

I used to collect this guy's doujinshi. I didn't really go for the red noses, but Nyachiko was cute. Never understood that picture though.

This is one of them.
By the way, when I say "canon lesbian" I don't just mean "there's a girl that generally flirts with other girls and acts outrageously" (though she does that too). I mean she's prepared to run away from her school with her lover, and society can go fuck itself.

Not really i picked up the first few books one day because for as long as i can remember people have been saying it was an awesome ln series it was. I started reading the first novel and got about half way though but i got distracted by other novels and then because nothing interesting had happened in marimit(?) i havent found the motivation to give it another go.

Oh hey, I have that taped to my wall. It was pretty humorous, if you like Hayashiya's style.

Actions aside, Sei also admits pretty blatantly to being a lesbian. Saying that she's "the same" as Kashiwagi and all.

I'm still not sure why we care whether they are declared to be canon lesbians. The most important figures in their lives are other women, whether they are technically lesbians or not. Does the lesbian bit really matter that much?

Even if only a couple characters are explicitly homosexual, the souer relationship has romantic connotations for all the characters. Sure, almost none of them seal it with a kiss, but the constant embracing and handholding is hinting to something more significant than friendship.

They do though, they just don't specify what kind of love.

I'm also a '/u/ ex-pat', which is probably why I think about what exactly makes a relationship between two girls 'homosexual' and whether it really matters whether that line is officially crossed or not (if it is even a line and not some fuzzy gray area).

I like it better when they say it. And even better when they fuck. I get what you're saying; it's the fact that's key, but making it explicit generally enhances it. Pussyfooting around and cockteasing isn't fun.

That's not to knock marimite, obviously it has its place, but just to play devil's advocate.

>> No.2223143

>>2223085
No, not really. It's mostly me and my habit of defending against troll claims that Marimite has no yuri whatsoever.
You know, the usual. "All of them have boyfriends, read the novels" etc.
I've stopped responding to the trolls, but I still like to bring up the fact that the show has "canon lesbians!"

Indeed. More than friends, but not lovers.

I guess it depends what you're looking for.

>>2223143
It is unusual that Sei actually admits to being lesbian. That rarely happens, even when a character is in a relationship with another girl.

>>2223146
Indeed.
