The only reason why it's in the OP in the first place is because some discordfag decided he was going to start shilling his own guide which, by the way, is named AFTER HIMSELF. The narcissism. I wouldn't be surprised if itazuraneko were the same person as the lowercase shitposter.

>> No.22037653

He never called himself itazura and never posted with a name in the threads. Out of all of the people to do something in relation to djt, he was the least egotistic. You know he gave the site away but is still paying for it? Gave everything with any sort of name recognition away after building it all up and according to his last few discord posts, is still posting links to some giant collection of retails books from somewhere he won't tell anyone about.
Look at the site backup on MEGA, there isn't even so much as a vanity readme.txt and nothing self referential. I wouldn't even feel bad if he did promote himself a little after all that was done but you can't anything, not even an email address. He wasn't even a discordfag, btw. Someone on /int/ asked for one and he made it. Look in the discord linked in guide, he isn't even there anymore; literally gave everything away and left, narcissists don't do that. Not even normal people do that.
The guide site was added to the op long before the discord was even made.

man-baby simply describes a man who avoids dealing with his emotional issues and instead verbally abuses people on the internet (throws tantrums) in a misguided attempt to distract himself from how shit he feels inside, rather than seek out the help he needs. or, a man who condones/defends that behavior.

if you don't fall into either of those categories then i take it back. but since your first reaction was to deflect, it appeared that you were attempting to defend that behavior. were you?

with sentence cards, you have less reps to retain words since you're reviewing other words in a single card

>>22038071
there's literally no argument here, just "you're wrong, i'm right". with sentences, since you're getting more benefit from seeing other words again, you don't have to spend 3 hours reading just to maintain the words since the words you want to retain are on your cards. it gives you more free time even if doing the 20 minutes of anki takes a few more seconds per card.

if your approach is to see a word in anki then just read all day, maybe coming across the word again, then go ahead. it seems more efficient to just spend a few more seconds on short sentence cards since you get a lot more out of them.

well yeah, you "learn" the definition, but not really.
You only glance at it, so that you don't have to start from zero when trying to grasp the meaning through reading.
The goal is to create a mental image with the reading and the kanji in your mind and to gradually add a meaning to that image in your head.

I think it's just a woman, not necessarily a redditor. The choice of insult ("man-baby") gives it away, though the typing style in general is effeminate as well.

If it's not a woman, it's some manner of leftist nu-male white knight type.

You can if you don't give a shit about having any info to tell you the correct readings for all the words in your sentence.

You know I just had a pretty epic experience that made it pretty clear to me how much exactly I advanced in the last year alone and I think a year ago already I was better than most learners already and I am only getting better. I faintly remember when it wasn't just a given that whatever Japanese entertainment media I tried was this comprehensible to me and feel glad I stuck to what I was doing. And I really think anime cards played a big role in the progress I made because it's incomparable to the first year of learning where I didn't do them. From what I have seen every one who complained about anime cards either didn't fully read the site not understanding how to properly do them or review them or just didn't consume enough Japanese even though I explicitly say in the guide you can only learn Japanese from consuming and flash cards are just a tool to assist you. First of all I don't 'immerse', I input
of course input plays the largest role as consuming is the essence of all language learning, so we are simply debating what assists in consuming most optimally and I think that is what anime cards are
they have all the advantages of sentence cards and none of the disadvantages of pure word cards
you can read on the guide that I wrote about some more of my argumentation, but of course what convinces me the most is the experience I made with all card formats and I have tried them all
now you can say the 'evidence' is not good enough but I'm not making an argument that I plan on publishing in a scientific journal but simply trying to help my fellow learners with something I think really works, there is no evidence on anything discussed in the Japanese learning community so I think it's strange holding me to that standard all of a sudden when I just made a cool card format for Anki and share it with people because it's GOOD

i'm not holding you to a greater standard than others. but you declare so matter of factly that it's responsible for your progress above and beyond the other tools and methods you're using. for example in that post you make it sound as if without audio cards you'd have not made noticeable progress in that year. but put a rough estimate to it. would you be 10%, 50%, or 100% worse if you used word or sentence cards instead of audio cards? a 10% improvement with audio cards vs basic vocab cards is actually a pretty big deal and i think they'd be worth using for that alone. but you don't pitch it as a 10% improvement. my intuition is that beyond lots of input, beyond basic SRS, diminishing returns hits fast.

>quiztards whole shtick is knowing lots of kanji
I don't know where you got that idea. I never aimed to know a ton of kanji. In fact if I did I wouldn't stick to mining things only that are voiced right? Don't you see a problem with doing that if I was actually aiming to learn all the kanji?
I can read more kanji than the vast majority of Japanese learners because I can read pretty much everything that actually pops up
and consider that I haven't even reached 3 years of total study time, this guy in your video is 30 years old and completed a Japanese major, he has been studying FOREVER and still failed every level like 10 times lol

It’s possible to learn things. When you learn things, it means you have more knowledge to draw from in future situations. This knowledge can inform your actions. People who have multiple personality disorder, can sometimes have drastically different personalities. People are also capable of recognizing charismatic/autistic/normal people, despite not being that themselves. Have you ever done an impersonation? well if you can, then you have the knowledge of the "how" within and the main thing stopping you from being somebody else so to speak, is psychological barriers. if you don't care about what you're immersing yourself in, then it's hard to keep doing it. think about geyline guy: it took him 9 months to finish one chapter of a VN because he hated it but absolutely refused to do anything else, and eventually he gave up and left. if you're not enjoying the stuff you're reading/watching/playing, you ought to try changing stuff up. especially if you've been fully focusing on one type of media, like manga only or vn only, try an LN or a video game even.
