You know I just had a pretty epic experience that made it pretty clear to me how much exactly I advanced in the last year alone and I think a year ago already I was better than most learners already and I am only getting better. I faintly remember when it wasn't just a given that whatever Japanese entertainment media I tried was this comprehensible to me and feel glad I stuck to what I was doing. And I really think anime cards played a big role in the progress I made because it's incomparable to the first year of learning where I didn't do them. From what I have seen every one who complained about anime cards either didn't fully read the site not understanding how to properly do them or review them or just didn't consume enough Japanese even though I explicitly say in the guide you can only learn Japanese from consuming and flash cards are just a tool to assist you.
