I posted about it before in a super huge post, but my theory is that Ciconia is a sequel to RGD and they are the same world, but the world itself was created by Umineko Okonogi (who could easily be Higurashi Okonogi 12 years later in a new job) who used the Ushiromiya Group's wealth to continuously replace his organs with artificial implants which allowed him to live long enough to see humanity cure aging, which he got access to thanks to his massive wealth. In the far future, he's still alive and used his government connections and wealth to get access to this meta technology, which he hijacked and used for his own purposes, which involve manifesting himself into an alternate reality and somehow causing the "disaster" that gave birth to the RGD alternate history world, which eventually turns into the Ciconia world in the future.

Maurice from RGD could be either an alternate universe version of Okonogi which future half-android unaging Umineko Okonogi from the Higurashi/Umineko timeline "possessed" (just like Rika possessed herself) using the future technology. Or he could literally be Okonogi who physically travelled to this alternate reality after hijacking the technology the government trusted him with and somehow causing the disaster, intentionally trapping himself in this fragment where history is different and surviving until Ciconia.

So then my mind just went to witches, and that that is how they'll come into play in the end. That humans in WTC have now reached the realm of the witches, or at least attempted to, and try to use their type of powers. Obviously there are still problems with it as Okonogi said.
If that ends up being the case, it would be pretty awesome desu. I wouldn't mind.

Maybe Ryukishi is using Ciconia to at least get the record straight on the true George/Kanon theory, but you need to remember that Mangagamer did get the Ciconia adaptation. RGD was 100% action, but it started much like Higurashi/Umineko. It was really good, don't get me wrong, and while it started very fast, it defined well developed characters hinting as depth later. There's nothing particularly polarizing in the beginning of RGD, nor even something polarizing in the VN at all.

Ciconia's demo is people doing meme faces, badly scripted action, a fucking moe mascot, and actual retardation. I distinctly feel there's someone being trolled there.
