how do you guys live with yourselves knowing you would all die alone in the future, with no off spring to continue your legacy.

It's been years since I accepted my fate, so it doesn't bother me much.

The path I walk in my life is one of my own volition. My reason for existence, my pride, my blood, my soul, my struggle are all for myself, no! They belong only to myself. I need nothing more than that to go forward.

t. Survived cancer already.

Why should I assign any value to concepts such as having a spouse or children? I can survive and lead a moderately happy life on my own.

well so does your parents. you should think of this as more of an responsibility/obligation than self satisfaction

>> No.21911984

I actually feel good about having no offspring because I'm antinatalist and don't want to create a being that's capable of experiencing suffering. I'm morally superior to almost everyone

Thinking about it as an obligation or responsibility feels very shallow. Having children and securing a good future for them is a huge financial and emotional undertaking even if you're thoroughly prepared for it. These days it's not even that important for success or survival in most modern countries, and more often than not people form families because they want to, not because they need to. If anything it's way worse for the child if they're born because of some empty obligation and then given the same expectations later in life. Sure, there's a chance that my children could grow up to be great people some day and that they could experience all the wonders of the world people seem so excited about, but on the other hand there's so much more room for misfortune and depression. I wouldn't want to force anyone to live a life similiar to mine yet I could probably steer my potential children away from my lifestyle, but that still doesn't mean that I should have or be expected to have children. Having children if you don't want to have any honestly feels like a waste of everyone's time and resources. In reality there's always going to be people who actually want children, with or without some oblique obligation.
Also chasing self-satisfaction as a life goal is pretty much what everyone seems to be doing, albeit in different ways. Most people will look for self-satisfaction their entire lives, some will achieve it through lovingly raising their children and watching them grow into adults, some will achieve it through other more personal means. So framing it as the "bad alternative" to the moral obligation of having children seems pretty weird.

My only goal in life is to consume as much otaku crap as I can. I don't care about anything else.

>> No.21912224

I don't want to pass down my mental illness ans have society take care of them, it'll just be a burden.
My legacy will be the things I've created in my freetime. I wouldn't want to be known for making schizo babies.

Happy. Lineage isn't linear, it's branching and some branches are inevitably shorter than others. It's just the way it is. That being said I don't want to live on this earth any more.
