I don't really have any preferences one way or another about most music.
That the music is at least decent is what matters.

I don't usually look at genres, I listen to all kinds of stuff. Porcupine Tree, Delain, Justice, Klute and Riverside are some of my favourite non-Japanese bands.

On the electronic side of things I really like Amon Tobin, a few things by Aphex Twin and some Venetian Snares (you should really give "Rossz Csillag Alatt Született" a listen if you're interested in the genre). There's a lot of chiptunes in my mp3 collection, although I don't play them as often.
I used to really like metal, but these days I find myself growing more fond of blues, jazz and classical. I was surprised to find that I seem to like Bach a lot.
I have an extensive weeaboo collection, although most of it is Touhou arranges and the really good songs in there are far and few in between. The best weeaboo music I have is probably Yoko Kannou's stuff (cowboy bebop & darker than black in case it doesn't ring a bell).
I liked DJ Shadow in general, until he released that one CD with all the rap-like music on it.

If you know of artists similar to Amon Tobin (especially like his album Supermodified) let me know. It's a genre I'm not really all that familiar with, and I'm looking to discover a few more gems like that.

So as well as the video game music I like things like the "string quartet tribute" albums, that Jay-Z/Linkin Park crossover, and yes, even radio 1's acoustic "live lounge" versions or when punk bands do speeded-up covers of pop songs.

Speaking for myself, It's mostly romantic, baroque, impressionist periods and 20th century classical (lol John Cage).

Mostly hardcore like Orchid, I Would Set Myself on Fire for You, L'Antietam, etc. I also listen to various other punk subgenres (ska, pop, folk) as well as a few indie bands and some jazz. As far as weeaboo music goes I don't listen to much, mostly just Touhou (although I also have a gig each of Type-Moon and Key music). I do like some anime OPs/EDs, but not enough to download them and listen to them regularly.

Postrock (mainly GY!BE and Sigur Rós, World's End Girlfriend to keep it /jp/ related) Shoegaze (My Bloody Valentine and Interpol, with some Slowdive), some folk (Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, etc.), psyche/alternative (Flaming Lips, Radiohead, Gainsbourg), punk (Joy Division) etc.

So, basically any kind of rock + classical (Debussy, Ravel, Saint Saëns, Bach and many others) + some IDM (my favourite being SayCeT). I can like nearly anything that isn't metal.

Mostly rock, especially 90's rock, Everclear, Red Hot Chili Peppers. A little ska and punk as well (Sublime for example).

I am a huge EBM/Industrial fan.

It's kind of funny, my favorite vidya/animu composers (Kanno, Sakimoto, Hamauzu) cite Ravel and Debussy as influences, and they are my favorite classical composers, along with Bach and Grieg. Well, my music tastes are like 90% game and 10% "classical". But game music is still my main love. I even learned how to play guitar and violin from listening to video game music.
