I don't have VSizzle. I don't have NY Yui. I've cleared all normal mode and hard mode maps. I've cleared every event thus far. I've cleared to the top of Luna Tower including all EX fights. Both of those characters are useful but are far from a necessity and, in most content that matters, you can borrow a character you're missing regardless so it hardly makes an impact.

I think they realised their fuck up with AL. Their model is too generous and as such it doesn't generate as much money as they'd like.
