It's not just that - it's because he played both Tsukihime and Fate for entirely the wrong reasons. GRIMDARK/VAMPIRES are not the main point of Tsukihime, and GAR is not the main point of Fate/stay Night. There are other VNs that do all of those better. Tsukihime and Fate are good VNs, but they are good VNs for other reasons.

You're misunderstanding something: I didn't write MY opinion on these VNs (damn, I've read only 3 of them), I just thought "Hey, if I write something like this about some VNs and /jp/'s general and slightly exaggerated opinion about them, then that can get fun!". I still have Tsukihime on my hard drive, and it was my first VN, so obviously I don't mind any flaws in it.

On that subject, go play Eushully's Tayuuta (Mine Fukaki Se ni Tayutau Uta, 峰深き瀬にたゆたう唄), it's better than it looks. The game is actually fun unlike 99% of eroge+gameplay hybrids, and the story isn't entirely shit either.

This is what happened with C;H.

Spring 2008. Small amounts of actually good VNs are released. Yes, yes, G-Senjou is released, too, but that's not enough. A couple of moonspeakers stumble upon C;H and notice that it's produced by Nitro+ (but actually isn't), one of the best VN producers over there. Colorful graphics, a combination of ecchi and blood, awesome opening and seinen setting finish the job, and moosnpeakers go to /jp/ and recommend it to everyone. Of course, they haven't reached the shounen shit ending yet, and when they do, it's too late, and 5pb is already producing the expansion (though I, for one, hope that it actually makes C;H better).
