I've said it before, but I'm convinced a part of it is that there are no Flower songs in Japanese arcade games. I think that would be a good way to make more people aware of her. Although I can't really give concrete examples, I don't really think that gynoid (her company) do a good job promoting her. And while I really love her boyish look (more merch, please), it's possible that the redesign didn't help.

Just got back from the concert, and I'd agree that they're doing well. The theater was pretty small but it was full, and the fans were just as crazy as at Magical Mirai. At the special talk after the concert they talked about all of IA's (and ONE's) collaborations and upcoming shows and I'd say they seem to be doing pretty well. Maybe when you compare them to Miku & co. it seems like there isn't much but Miku does so many collabs as to make any comparison pointless.

Attention seeking cosplayers =/= all women at MikuExpo. I'm talking about the female fans with itabags, T-shirts of their fav characters, etc. Maybe they don't show up because of all the guys, hence, making the problem worse for the female fans who do show up. I only saw Japanese women in VIP and my nip is non-existent so I couldn't communicate with them.

More men than women are interested in vocaloid to the point of going to concerts, that proportion stays consistent no matter how big or small the group is. There's gonna be relatively few gaijin at mirai in general, there's probably some western girls going but I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the single digits or not that much higher. Finding one is probably like looking for a needle in a haystack.
