Reading through Umineko episode 2 and I'm a bit confused about something. Is the Battler taking part in the story the same as the Battler observing the game with Beatrice, or are they separate?

That I agree with too, I raged hard when Rosa would beat up Maria, and then cower in front of her siblings.

Classic attitude of a child abuser, she's too cowardly to confront her own problems so she takes her stress out on her daughter, then tries to buy back her daughters happiness in her shame.
