Anyway, the way you're playing Nero right now is pretty much like Nanaya if he had a somewhat different moveset. I can't say my Nero is anything near decent but I've played a couple of tourney Neros, so...

As Nero, your blockstrings are pretty much inexistant. Your best bet for now is to end with 4 or a 214a/b deer. 236b crow can be good too. Be wary of punishment.

Your jB can hit on both sides, you should make use of that for cross-ups.

When you get the other in the corner, you'll want to keep pressure going with 236c (236b is somewhat fine, but only if they don't react to it), then you come in with high-low mixups, mostly IAD jB and 2b. You can also do empty jump-ins and throw, you can combo from it with 5b if you have godlike timing.

2c is pretty good anti-air, but only against characters without a disjointed that can easily eat through it. 5b is fine too, if they're too far.

As Nero, you're going to end up blocking a lot, so get used to it. If a Warc use the 5ba infinite blockstring on you, punch him over the inernet.

Set B or C deer whenever you can, they help a lot in space control. Always be wary of your opponent's option as to not get punished for it, though. I usually set a deer at the end of a BnB with no air-throw.

That's pretty much all I know about Nero. It's not so complicated, so it'll come to you as you play more if you keep it in mind. It might not hold up in the long run, but for now it'd be an improvement. Keep in mind that setting the zoo is one thing and knowing how to use it is another.

I usually try 2A->2B->214B/C then IAD j.B, but it wasn't working this time. Good advice, though; thanks. I have to train myself to start using the A-Deer, though; I usually just use B and EX, which gets my ass handed to me.

Cross-ups are something I really need to practice, but I never really get the chance. It doesn't really work in practice mode, but the only times I can use it against people they're either kicking my ass, or I'm just repeating my BnB three times per match because they eat a j.B->BnB.

I used to try that. Now I just duck and get ready to blockstring/punish a tech, because my timing isn't that good in the first place and the delay is usually greater than the opening.

Generally, if somebody even picks Warc, I want to punch them over the internet. It's just about impossible for Nero to approach, because they can just Akuma their way in and there's nothing I can do.

...This is impossible, though. After the first jBC, the opponent goes flying across the field. The jC after the first landing will never hit, unless you're doing it right next to the wall, but at that point only the next jC will hit; air-dashing will just run you into the wall, and the jC hitbox will be far enough off screen that the opponent will just fall past harmlessly.

Also there's about 2 places where one might use 2CC with Ciel. One for her high-low mixup after a throw and one for her mixup after Hiero, though I really only see one or two people ever use that.
