Dropped out of university, been a NEET for exactly 8 months. Earned around USD2k/mo making Flash games. Spent most of my time these days downloading programming ebooks and reading them.

I'm living in a backwater 3rd world country(not India). The money I earned from making Flash games is chicken feed compared to what an average American earn but I'm well above average of the IT professionals in my country.

Currently living off my parent. Can't remember the last time I went out. Basement is a luxury here where I live, I'm more of an attic person.

Same here. My theory is that people in general are much less annoying when you don't have to be among them all the time. Let's say you really like lasagna. When you chose to eat it, it's fucking delicious. But then someone forces you to eat it every day. You can eat whatever else you want too, but you have to eat the lasagna at least once a day. For at least 10 years. The same fucking lasagna every single day. Well, perhaps after 7 years, the chef changes, and it'll taste a bit different because he makes it differently, but that's mostly random. It is my belief that anyone trying that would end up hating lasagna.

Not every one chooses to be a NEET, I really doubt more than a handful of people would really choose to become one as it fucking sucks.

In my case I had a mental break down, being a diabetic and later on my health got fucked up. It messed up a large part of my life, but now I`m starting to get back to my feet so to speak. I go to gigs, hang out with friends go to bars, clubs* and go to the gym two times a week. I`m not normal but have great friends which really helps and at least I`m trying to work on it.

*Not really my thing but the eye candy is always nice.
