ggs. Your biggest issue right now is blocking and prediction, but that's something that comes naturally with time. You almost always want to be block low by default. Move to high guard only if you know an overhead is coming (they're slow and easy to see most of the time) or if your opponent is in the air. If you think your opponent is going to throw (like I do after almost every corner knockdown as Akiha), mash either 2A or a dragon punch-like move on wake-up.

Yeah. The lolis (Miyako, Len(s), and the cats) have smaller hitboxes than everybody else. It really fucks with certain combos, especially for Sacchin. Len's neutral cat form has an even smaller one. Just be glad Len's cat-step-teleport was removed. That was the nastiest thing ever.

Hahaha, I've had that fuck me over though not quite in the same way. Was playing as Akiha, meter was maxed, and my opponent was dashing into me. I decided to go for my Arc Drive figuring it's good AA if he jumps in and a grab if he doesn't, worst case it gets blocked. I get halfway through the motion when the opponent decides to jump over me, meaning my input of 41236C became 412412C, triggering a very different effect that ended up with me eating a 3k combo.

Wait, really? Because I've started attacks as enemies jump over me, and they still counted even though my character turned around before the actual attack. Had something to do with the way that if you're moving, your character will keep facing the same direction for a few frames, I think.

I've played way too many people who're bad at watching their opponent's meter. To me, punishing jump ins with an Arc Drive is the second most gratifying hit I can land. First place belongs to corner dash-in Arc Drive grab, which I still need to practice more. I had 6C go off instead way too many times, which just totally threw me for a loop.

Regarding the delay, I don't think it really matters. I mean obviously it DOES but at the same time...I dunno.

I play Ciel Dude with usually an 8 delay, yet the game runs completely smoothly 90% of the time without any difference from playing someone on a LAN or with a 2 or 3 delay.

Lol...that's about 8 frames of delay for your moves. Of course the FPS is smooth, but the input is registered that much later, making advanced gameplay very difficult to do since you're used to...well normal inputs. Also think about this: certain moves (like aoko 6[a]) shows a charge animation when it's an overhead. If you react to this normally you can block it, but if you react to it when you SEE it, you still have 8 frames before your high block comes out, making it impossible to block it on reaction. Even if you see and react to it, by the time the input goes through due to delay you've already been hit by it. Stupid shit like that completely ruins the game at high delay.

8 frames of delay, despite running smoothly, is about a fifth of a second between your input and your character doing it. That may not seem like much, but when I've just knocked somebody into the air, I need to jump up and HOAAA their asses instantly or they're going to recover; besides which, my reflexes are tuned to certain visual cues (like Nero being at the right height for a last-second j.B), and it's really precise.

From the people I've played in this, I don't see the finals being anythings else than ZaShiki vs Damage. If we strike them out, it becomes a lot more balanced. Of course not all of them would want to participate, and even if they all signed up we can't expect anything near perfect attendance, at least from personal experience from Wankfest 1. Well, it's probably a better idea to not do it or wait some more to let people improve unless they show significant interest.
