I'm experimenting on that side, also separated the extra details I put on the demon eyes to make some easy comparisons.

I like large breasts but yeah, Rena's are at a good size, it's all about giving them a sexy shape, with that it gives a bit more space to the torso and also helps giving a good focus to the hips.

Exactly. Large breasts are nice, but shape is equally if not even more important. Without a good shape, huge boobs just end up looking grotesque. And even the smallest of budding breasts can look incredibly charming if they're done properly. Plus, adding some variety to the shape of each girls bust is a subtle detail that adds a lot. Rena's are looking good here. Again, nice detail on the bra. Looks similar to Mion's in design. Maybe they went shopping together.

Also, I think I like this face better than the shadowed one. It's less prominent, making it more unsettling.

Reminder that after finishing Kusarihime, its writer, Hoshizora Meteo, wanted to create a fanbook. In doing so, some other writers were dragged into the project. They were Urobuchi Gen, Tanaka Romeo, and Kinoko Nasu.

All three writers were inspired by Kusarihime. Taking the concept of two people whose love can only be confirmed through each other and insanity, Urobuchi went and made Saya no Uta.

Taking the concept of time loops, insanity, twisted personal relationships, and not giving the readers definitive answers, Tanaka Romeo went and made Cross Channel.

Taking the concept of love, family bonds, and insanity, Kinoko Nasu went and made the Heaven’s Feel route in Fate/stay night.

There are many parallels between Kusarihime and Higurashi too, such as the time loops and how the seemingly traditional mythological power turns out to be related to science fiction instead. And Ryuukishi's next work, Umineko, is very clearly inspired by Meteo's Forest.

I love kanji, but vocabulary is pretty hard to remember. Until you start using it instead of memorizing word lists, then it becomes piss easy.

Kanji is a bitch, but I ended up loving it after the first few months. I surprised myself recognizing common kanji compounds in subtitles that only lasted for a second. It's like seeing the number 247 and recognizing it in an instant: the meaning, the spelling, everything. The whole language is like that. In fact, hiragana is a pain in the ass to read now.
