None of the people I know who have read Umineko could solve it, and one of them told me to not think about it and jut let it be answered in Episode 7. Really do not appreciate the fact that EP8 was summarized in a single volume instead of having a proper adaptation or even an expansion based on the extra info from the manga.

I mean, you give 700 pages for EP6 and adapted it word after word into novel, and get an even bigger episode than it and cut it short to 480 pages, which already was polemic for not having exactly every single (explicit) content the fans wanted in it... and thus came the manga.

I just finished the fourth arc of the Higurashi manga and I feel like nothing has been explained from the first arc. Why sudoku throat scratchin? Why Rena and Mion team up for gangbang Keiichi? What rely happened while he was blacked out? Why did Irie show up?
Am I missing clues? Should I reread it?
Second arc is pretty easy, one of the twins killed the other and faked her own fall death to get into the hospital to kill Keiichi. I feel like revealing the bodies of all the victims are on the Sonozaki estate really leaves nothing but motive left to discover, they are responsible for the lion's share of the murders.
Third arc implies Takano could be involved in Tomitake's death. The fourth reveals nothing of value except Rika knowing the future and maybe knowing things from one loop to the next, and Akasaka being the Calamity Trigger as well :D

Chiru actually is regarded as even better written, especially because of EP5 and EP7, but I would say the story as a whole can't be individually compared by parts that are but fragments of an amazing puzzle.

Ep. 7 plot was fairy simple. The execution and the writing was the best IMO. The concept of who/why/how are heavily focused in episode. The infodumpling was very well-executed in the most creative way which add layer to story and characterization. It start out very calmly and atmospheric then turn out to be the most intense shit in latter half. The tea party is probably the highest peak of whole story. I think it probably the most well-crafted even without all fun mystery vs. fantasy like other episodes.

You should have a vague idea about why K1 and the girls interacted the way they did from reading the other arcs, especially Tatarigoroshi - though you get a rather explicit resolution soon if you can't figure it out.
With second arc you do have a solid and rather common theory, but with no motive you can essentially shove it - again, the motive is present in the arc itself.
Definitely reread Tatarigoroshi lol, R07 has a tendency of stuffing important clues in spots where you will overlook them,.
Himatsubushi gives a bit of a context to the happenings, as well as a bit of a shade on Rika: why does she know who's going to die when, as well as how? Also, who's the culprit behind those and how do they relate to Oyashiro-sama? While we're at it, what is the 'curse' that makes somebody lose go psycho in every arc? And, what's the deal with the Sonozakis and the 'demon' Mion is harboring?
If you don't have a theory for those, you're just drifting with no aim, like a boat in the middle of the ocean.

On the side, I would read two manga story arcs, one of which has a VN version already ported to PC: Onisarashi-hen, which is best read after Tsumihoroboshi, and Yoigoshi-hen, which should be read only after Meakashi and Onisarashi. You can always swap Tsumi and Mea - you'd go against the release order, but keep the answer arcs parallel to the question arcs; your choice, really.
