If you chose the same starter, it gets imported from your old game, with the same marks and A+ rankings, which is a downgrade since choosing other starters gets you full S ranks. Your old puppets only become available after you beat the true final boss of the game Mugetsu and Gengetsu Doremy then returns your old puppets to you. Basically you can only use your old squad for NG+ preparation, since starting an NG+ brings only the puppets in your active party at the beginning.

Why doesn't the read me mention ISO's anywhere? Why are there two steps saying "Install X" in the exact same why when both things to install are done so in different ways?
This shit! This shit right here! Absolutely NO quality control, never ever ever.
Oh and I just KNOW there's someone reading this with some smug, self-satisfied grin that they could install it correctly. Good for you! Ain't you smart? But guess what, THAT MEANS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING. Ever heard the brick-layer metaphor? If your instructions arn't good enough for the dumbest person reading them, then they are BAD INSTRUCTIONS.
And you can't just yada-yada who cares these things! Read mes are REALLY REALLY FUCKING IMPORTANT, that's why they're named something so direct and simple that a fucking senile grandma would know to click them. Doubly, TRIPLY so if you don't have an autorun or entirely self-contained installer! If they can't get your shit to work, then it's just that, shit. IT'S KINDA IMPORTANT.
So you just finally got your patch/mod/program working? All ready to go? NO YOU ARE FUCKING NOT. Sit down, write a read me, then write a BETTER read me, and you keep doing that shit until you have instructions to clear that a blind person could follow them. Find help, find a dumb person to bounce it off, lots of those folks around, and stop being such a stupid dipshit. Jesus Christ!

Honestly my only criticism of the game is that there isn't a easy reference guide in-game for type advantages and what kind of types the Touhous you see are. Not even the Puppet Book has any reference it to it. While some Touhous are obvious on what type they are, many aren't.

I have zero patience for poorly written instructions, that's correct. It's an infuriatingly common problem among independent programmers and modders and those sort of folk that has no god damn reason to exist.

>>19976323
Well look at that, it's exactly who I was talking about! Alright, smart-ass, let's dissect some shit.

>It's not the readme's fault that you can't follow 10 steps.
And what good steps they are!

>1) Install the base game.
No mention of where or what the base game is. Simple to figure out, but also no reason not to do so either. Also it's just run the setup file, remember that, it'll be important latter.
>2) Make sure the game runs, if it doesn't uninstall and install again, if it doesn't work hope someone in the thread can help you.
Ah yes. "The thread." You know, on "the site." Of course. No need to link to it or mention where it is we all just know where "the thread" is. So if you have problems the instructions kindly tell you too eat shit. Helpful!
>3) Install the update files in the following order: gn_enbu_r100_r110 -> gn_enbu_r_110_r120 -> gn_enbu_r_120_r134. If the update exe stops before the end run it again until it finishes properly.
Now these seems fine, not pointing to where they are aside, until you actually open one and it's all in Japanese. Yes you don't have to do anything besides press okay, BUT why doesn't it say so? Is it okay to close the program when both bars are full? Do I need to press the button in the middle? These questions should not exist.
>4) Install the translation.
Here's some good shit, the translation patched isn't titled "translation patch!" Why not? Fuck, you don't even need to do that and can name it whatever the hell you want if you just did what you so kindly suggested and actually named what the fucking file was. Why not!?
>5) Install Shard of Dreams.
Now here's where the shit gets good. "Install Shard of Dreams," stated just like steps 1 and 4, which were just some applications to run. Click, done, just an exe. And yet, in THIS case, it's an ISO.
Why!? Why is it different!? And since it IS different, why is the step listed like it isn't!? This, THIS right here, is what makes these instructions bad. Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not) but most people don't know what the fuck to do with an ISO. I sure didn't when I first encountered them! So WHY doesn't it even TRY to explain what to do there!?
And you know what's on the ISO? An exe. Another setup application. Previous pic FUCKING related.
>6) Update the game with the 2 update files. (enbu_ap1000_1102 -> enbu_ap1102_1103)
See previous, except there's several more moonrune windows popping up. If you're supposed to anything else with these besides hit yes then fuck if I know. It's great that you guys know Japanese, that takes a lot of work and good on you, but as someone downloading a translation patch, I in fact cannot read Japanese, and am left to wonder how you DIDN'T CONSIDER THAT AT ALL.
>7) Make sure that the game runs.
Hmmm, now there's two game files. Is Shard of Dreams a separate application? Why? It's an expansion? So many questions left arbitrarily unanswered! And it doesn't seem to run either. Maybe I should ask "the thread."
>8) Go to your dat folder and move gn_dat1, gn_dat2, gn_dat5 and gn_dat6 somewhere else or make a backup and delete them.
These step is actually almost fine. Could mention where the dat folder is, but otherwise it's good shit. Says what to do and with what to do so by directly naming them. Well done, for once. But alas...
>9) Copy-paste the contents of the Translation folder into the game folder.
Now look. When I'm following a set of instructions, and it says to go get the "Translation" folder, caps and everything, I go looking for a folder named "Translation." Because that's common fucking sense. And I might see a folder named "SoD_Translation_Team-Testing," but I am certainly not going to think that is the "Translation" folder, because it's named like some dev tool bullshit which, as a non-idiot, I'm not going to mess with. And yet...
This what I'm sperging about, this right here. There's no reason for this, at all. The bytes you are saving by having a few less characters in the word doc ain't worth the possibility of people coming to "the thread" with stupid complaints. It's not just that there shouldn't be the inconsistency and lack of name, it's that there should be the slightest possibility for confusion in the read. That's exactly what instructions are for.
>10) Run the game with ynk_1103_tlstrings_wordwrap.exe, delete the original if you want.
Also very clear. Hey, 2 out of 10, could be worse.

>your skills 0.00%
Okay. Let's assume I'm an idiot. Should be easy for you. Guess what? It doesn't matter. If an idiot is having trouble following your instructions, then haha, hes dum, and they're still bad instructions. You shouldn't need any skills beyond reading basic English to follow 10 steps. That's the entire fucking point!

You're not getting it at all. The problem here isn't whether or not I have the skills necessary to install the game, it's that the instructions assume I do. Step-by-step instructions exist to guide the ignorant through unfamiliar tasks, so why would you assume said ignoramus knows anything about the task you're instructing him in? That eliminates the whole point. It's a ridiculous contradiction that people make again and again and again. People making these brilliant, game-changing overhauls and wonderful, pain-staking translations and putting all this time and effort into improving a game they adore, and then writing "Install the program into the correct folder" as the how-to and leaving it at that. Then probably getting annoyed by all the dummies asking for help running their shit too boot.
It's the most infuriating thing in the world.

The word anon can be found as early as the 11th Century, with the Old English word āne meaning "in one," or "right away." The word is considered archaic, and sounds a little pretentious when used today. It fits much better in older literature such as works by Shakespeare. For example, in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet's nurse calls her just as the girl is bidding goodbye to Romeo, and she keeps putting the Nurse off by saying, "I come anon."

I've no hard proof, but from my experience I think it's likely that bosses have perfect IVs (+15 points at level 50) in all stats. It's also possible she was wearing a choice item. And in case you aren't already doing it, look at the stats of your puppets to see where they do well. Puppets with high attack and low HP/defenses such as SpeedGengetsu can be oneshot by pretty much anything regardless of type effectiveness.

Power murasa has Stream Form, which I was hoping to make good use of by giving her void skills. Didn't go so well since I haven't learned any void skills and I don't have any void skill cards. Not yet at least.

>>19997975
She's good as long as you remember what she is weak to. It is very satisfying switching her in to avoid having a puppet faint and seeing the next attack be completely nullified. She's immune to most things and so it's not hard to work with. She can also learn changeling and I been using it often to switch her in, kill an opponent that very turn, and then switch her out with another puppet when the opponent switches his puppet. That's two free swaps without taking any damage.

Ya google translate definately does not cut it. It is quite tedious to copy the names then search them on the wiki to get the correct translation. Though the page itself is easy enough to understand after a few tries.

Though looking at the percentages the preferred build for EHecatia is Supernatural Border with Shooting Press being you main offensive move with Moonbow and Over Ray being popular filler moves though her offensive move set mostly depends on what you are trying to counter using her. Also 64 HP ev and 64 ATK ev with a ATK boosting nature also seem to most popular ev and nature.
