Last year it had like 1215 circles, this year its 1355. The little grey bar under the colored bar is supposed too represent last Comikets numbers OP. Over 1000 more circles than last Comiket sure is a steep decline.
By now people should understand that Touhou has been on a plateau for literally years now and that Comiket numbers are not a good gauge of popularity anyway.

Granblue has some good character designs but that's about it I guess. I tried playing it for a while but every character that isn't a main has almost zero characterization aside from encounter voice lines and battle lines.
Fate/GO in comparison has has bond lines, ascension lines, lines that only appear if you have a certain other character, events that make use of a big cast of characters, guest artists. Not to mention the animes, VNs, LNs.

I'm sorry if there is more to Granblue as I haven't played it a lot but that was my impression.

FGO just unveiled a new gameplay mechanic that might introduce powercreep to the game. Command Cards that you need to roll the gacha for, use an item to add it to one character's five attack cards, and when you select the specific attack card an extra effect happens, like +Crit damage, +500 HP heal. For now they are pretty subdued and can only be rolled in the Friend Point gacha, but I'm sure they will add 5* versions in the future. You also need another item to take them off.

Side characters get their development from events and alternate versions for the most part. A lot of the events tend to be more serious and character development focused in tone compared to FGOs events too.

You're right about ascension lines and stuff but I don't think they add much in regards to development, FGO gets to cheat in development though by using historical figures in a way.

If people are willing to roll the garbage 1% rate gacha full of generally nothing but craft essenses for new 5*s that are low tier and can't even compete against 2 year old servants then command cards being added won't hurt it.

Those are just the circle numbers found when you count them up in the catalog. Though 3000+ isnt exactly accurate. Last Autumn Reitaisai had a little over 2000 circles and Reitaisai 15 had just under 3000 (like 2950ish I think).

So Fate as 1 less then Touhou while boats have 7 less. To be quite honest though this doesn't actually mean a whole lot though. Events dedicated too a certain series happen pretty regularly and aren't too uncommon. What im getting at is that I want too know if there are any that are at the sheer scale of Reitaisai where thousands of circles participate.

That website only lists the ones that are happening in a few months, so it's hard to judge total circle numbers.
Some of the events are character specific. There's an upcoming KC event that's Murakumo only, and there's one with Mystia and Kasodani only also coming up.
