So we were going to discuss perfumes dancing skills or something. Hopefully the anon who seems to know about that stuff gets here soon so we can have a proper thread for a bit. I'm not sure if nocchi is the best dancer, I need evidence, but I for sure know she enjoys it the most just look at her have her moment every time she does her party maker solo. If I had no clue who she was and stumbled across a photo like this, with no smile and no discernible personality traits, I would still be utterly and hopelessly captivated by Nocchi's flawless perfection in both face and body. Just her proportions and features are enough to become lost in gazing at her pictures as a passionate art-lover would a renaissance masterwork.

She doesn't have to try to look like she's feeling genki or act cutesy or even crack a smile to enhance her appearance. In fact, I dare say she's even more attractive when she's not doing those things for the same reason a woman who's radiant without makeup is better off not wearing any; the transcendence of her beauty becomes fully apparent when one realizes it's effortless, and that without even trying, her natural aesthetic still reaches a level hopelessly unattainable to the vast majority of women regardless of how much time or money they invest in their appearance.

I honestly find it perfect how many of their costumes and dances are meant to give them the appearance of artificial, robotic beings or a higher evolution of experimental life-form; her level of physical perfection in most of their videos just isn't possible by human reproduction.

Incidentally this is why I believe my earlier "better without makeup" example also applies to Nocchi Though I understand a lot of guys think *no* Asian women look good sans makeup, I personally find her even more stunning without so much as a speck of product on her face. While she's still flawless, at least in my eyes, the lack of foundation gives her face just enough texture to look organic instead of manufactured. It shows she's very much human, and allows one to be humbled by the fact that that not only does he get to live in the same time and walk the same earth as a woman too beautiful to be real, he's privileged beyond words to have warmth and light added to his life by how brightly she shines when she shares her gift of music with the world.

Sorry for making everything about me yet again. I also seem to have forgotten that everything on here should be taken as a meme, even the hate. But my plans are still in fruition(if I used that word right) I like to think that, just like me, one day, someone will check the archives and my full of life personality will keep them entertained if they have the same level of humor as me. I get somewhat frustrated if the thread doesn't seem busy so I try to post whatever I think can get attention. I realize not everyone has the amount of free time I do so that's one reason why the threads seem slow at times. I bring the passion to perfume gen!
And it's time to post my favorite yuka pic

I have been studying dance my entire life and have analyzed the living shit out of mikiko’s choreogeaphy and perfumes abilities as movers. They are all truly great dancers, and each of them have things they are good and not so good at.
Something to remember is length of limbs makes a HUGE impact in how you execute moves. A dancer with longer limbs like nocchi has to put more effort in bending lower and has more weight to pull, while a stockier dancer like a~chan will have to put in certain efforts in acheiving height.

A~chan has a very fluid style of dancing, for sure. She has a really flexible torso and focuses on full body movements. Kashiyuka is very rationing, there’s a clear power input difference in music video dance shows vs full shows. She has a very rigid style of dance, for sure. Nocchi strikes a good balance. There isn’t really a true answer to who is the best dancer, because they have different strengths in different routines. As you can see in their old dance routines from HAS, a~chan can do a wonderfully aware contemporary routine, and yuka can seriously do a great hip hop routine.

A~Chan’s strength is in her fluidity and genki, she really adds that extra pop over minute details. But she is the opposite of yuka in that she doesn’t ration and pace as well, where yuka is more fixated on ensuring her counts are perfectly precise (as shown from her breakdown about missing the right count in her PNO solo, and saying that “sync is everything” in the if you wanna live). A~chan has a poppy image to keep up, so it makes sense she keeps her lively style. A~chan is an amazingly talented dancer, and so is yuka. Again, nocchi strikes a great balance for those two styles. Nocchi is really consistent. Nocchi is noted for her bad balance, so I have noticed as time went on mikiko would give balance-fixated moves to yuka, such as the leg raise at the ending pose of glitter. Both of the other members have jokingly poked at nocchis bad balance, and there’s even this adorable footage of her falling during a curtain call.
Overall, I think nocchi is the best dancer, but it’s by a really small margin. Striking that balance of power and precision is REALLY hard. All three of them have been dancing all styles their entire lives, and dancing in heels is no easy feat. Y’all try to remember that dancing is not as easy as it looks- and if they make it look easy- they’re doing it right.

There’s a lot of appeal to professionalism, definitely. And I agree nocchi by far has the most professional consistency.
But I disagree that you think a chan and yuka could not be in a dance troupe, that’s literally what they were before getting into the idol industry. Hell, that’s why they even got into it- a passion for dance! And being a young, decently pretty, talented, and hard working girl and an idol is a great way to be able to dance professionally in Japan.
But a~chan is by no means an unprofessional or sloppy dancer. Yuka can lack pop and attitude and sometimes does moves pretty lamely. Correct and on time, but lame. A~chan always does 110% which is a pretty telling quality of a good dancer, imo. She will still pop off even if she’s in the back.
Again though, these are tiny nit picks because I’ve studied them way too fucking much. They really are amazing dancers in their own right and could definitely be able to be sole dancers. If you haven’t, I’d recommend watching things from their performance-oriented routines from before idol era, where the dances are cutesy and what have you.
Tldr I agree that nocchi is the best dancer, but a~chan is super talented in her own right because I believe there is a lot of admirability in the genki appeal. It obviously got her noticed! Lol

but yes I like all aspects of it. my only complaint is songs that open with nocchi these days usually aren't fire due to the genre they're going for. I think they should have opened with A-chan as her verse half way though was much easier to listen to and would have made for a better opening, and maybe just switching them would have had a better effect.

but yes the verses are OK in the first half and fantastic when the more intensive lines come in and really shows how good nakata can make perfume sound, the chorus is great in the context of the song. the refrain is the best part and was probably the part where I was like "okay this is fire"

I'm really hoping the MV/PV for Let Me Know is more a montage type video. Something similar to Macaroni or even Hold Your hand. Also what are very Perfume MV. For me it has to be macaroni. Oh yeah so many good videos actually. All those you mentioned are some of my favourites. Oh my god, I just remembered about elevator. Damn, I keep forgetting that song even exists. Their last 4 or so didn't really do much for me- Mugen Mirai, If You Wanna, Tokyo Girl, Flash (I think). Well to start, I'm not the biggest fan of those songs. The choreo didn't do much for me either. Yeah, everything is just on a downward curve. Sorry I know everyone knows this, but I just felt like venting.

considering how long its been since i checked in, i don't know what to be hostile about. aside from a few gorilla-chan posts back in the day, i like all 3 girls, they're all just nice old ladies that need our love and support.

pretty typical tfw no autist Nocchi gf material so that fanfic will be a good read. a lot of autism fanfics back in the day too which would only be supplemented by interviews where A-chan or Yuka would comment on Nocchi having no friends and shit like that. good times. i recently switched to a new computer and in the process of moving over files, i rediscovered i still had all of Chandelier House saved. i'll have to rewatch it and Happy! again as first watching those back in 2014 was a very comfy time. i have to re-indulge in Perfume once more.

Japanese bandmerch towels are only about the size of a large hand towel or dishcloth. so I'll probably just display them with my other Perfume merch and vinyl pressings and whatnot.

It's not an "official" image. Those pics in the image are film prints that some publication snapped but didn't use in print. so they're technically OC.

They included the negatives, which means I also own the rights to the images (not that they're worth anything).

it was so long ago when i was in full nocchifag mode so i don't really remember Yuka and A-chan's days. i think Yuka's was also relatively laid back (going out shopping and a walk in the park or something), they were screencaps posted in one of the old threads but god knows what number it would be. then again, i suppose if you follow Perfume for long enough, they were all pretty much what you'd expect.
