Finished converting the RO valkyrie sprite to 48x48, was actually much less of a headache than i thought it was going to be. Going to do the dark valkyrie sprite for her shift core form at some point too. Idea totally not stolen from Kais post last thread

Magic is kind of annoying to use if you don't want to just spam magic dart. Tons of cash injected into annoyingly out of the way vendor. Still can't reserve the good healing, the speed buff, the better arrow spell.
Spells also level pretty insanely slow compared to everything else even when potential is high and potential can't just be raised easily.

Witch or Valkyrie?

Which Shift Core should I get? Other than Omega. I got that one early for my mutant once and while it IS incredibly strong and made me able to get to act 2 super early with no real issues and negated the speed loss, its also goddamn tedious to play with because you constantly bleed hp and can't heal it properly because you also bleed mana.
Alpha seems pretty meh; I do more damage with magic than melee and more turns=more damage anyways.
Beta seems good for better magic darts.
Delta sounds fun for being tanky as fuck.
Gamma seems like the obvious winner because speed is such a good stat but not sure it beats beta for damage or delta for coolness.

Damn man, catch a fucking goblin. Add to party AND GIVE IT A CUSTOM SPRITE. Now you can tell him apart from the fodder so ... ranch it. Waste about 1 month game time. Drop Gene Machine on gobbie ranch, should have 3~5 now. Mix into frog for passable limbs and skills. Repeat til satisfied. I did this with Platina Bell, so why not a frog?

Bonus: mix breeder as the last fodder, leave any other non-party gobs on the ranch. If you have egg layers they'll produce. This opens your breeder slot while having producers on your ranch. Need Big Brush + Rubbing SPact to see if those unpartied gobs produce eggs. Now the ranch can have a new breeder for new fodder and make eggs, if you care of course.

Why do this? Its the only way, in my eyes, to justify the cost of keeping a ranch for skills/limb production. Other types of ranches have their own justification, ex:rabbit ranch for luck boosting.

Also, if you want to be a mage, just be a mage. Its not particularly complex. It USED to be kind of a pain in the ass. A very, very long time ago. Now its pretty simple. Just stand near the edge of wilderness maps, read, stop reading if you run out of mana and leave the area if it summons shit. Then find the spell you want in your ability menu, press a number button and proceed to spam it. Most likely magic arrow. The hardest part of being a 'pure' mage is the guild quest being luck based kinda.

Renai switches from one sprite to another sprite while under the effect of Run Wildly.
If you use an Astral Pen on Renai, you can have a copy of her as your pet.
You can change your pet's sprite to a custom sprite or PCC.

I want to know how pet appearance customization works with this unique pet that has a special effect that can change her appearance.

Does customizing her normal appearance override the special effect? Or does the special effect override the customization while it's active?
And if the custom appearance is overridden, what happens when the effect expires? Does she go back to the custom appearance, or the original non-pet appearance? If the custom appearance stays, could the Run Wildly appearance be changed permanently like with shift cores, or is it hardcoded?

Also, you might want to remake some of your "pseudo-artifacts". You only get two aurora rings/seven league boots/etc. from Equip Making instead of three, but they DO generate as bona fide randarts, which normally can't happen. Might be able to pick up some extra status immunities or elemental resistances on slots where you normally couldn't have any.

Dragon child is good carry. You can teach it Fire Breath right away and use it with custom ai at 100% gauge for 1/3 max hp heal.

I'm trying to figure out if its worth it to go for breath build for PC. Damage scales with control magic that could only really be over-capped with living weapons and CON that could only be boosted with Mwahahaha god, inner god weapon and a gem buff. Res debuff got very low cap and is essentially useless, -150 while most enemies have 500+ later.

To be clear I was asking because I'm plainly not strong enough to fight her even at max buff. She killed me in a single hit. I've submitted a couple of bugs and have gotten responses back that he'll look into them. All of the bugs squashed too. Never was told that my 5 sentence bug reports, because I'm not good at jap, were too short. Never asked to become his professional bug tester either.

Also act 1 plot awesome? It's meh and you aren't depicted as the main character or anything. At least Ano brings you into the plot in act2/his plot but I wouldn't say his writing is particularly stellar either. Doesn't matter to me though as long as I'm having fun in the game.

Omake isn't perfect either but to each their own. Omake has some neat ideas but past that it doesn't bring nearly as much to the table as Elona+ in my opinion. The only real thing that comes up in discussions with Japanese players is that some, certainly not all, players seem upset about the way Ano just went in and did his own thing without asking for permission to do so. Either he didn't know to ask or just didn't care to. That's the main thing. The rest of the stuff listed is all opinions that I wouldn't say every Japanese player agrees on. Shields are incredible. You can get close to 50% chance of nullify ANY damage, boost PV by huge amount, reflect damage, remove all DW penalties when you have more than 2 hand slots, get a buff that applies good DV debuff vs attackers. Only gauge attack sucks.

I've won an ultra ending in ADOM and it only superficially resembles Elona. Like, yeah it's turn-based, grid-based, similar controls, the herbs have the same names, and ether disease is clearly inspired by chaos corruption, but the experience of playing both games is completely different.

ADOM is mostly about foreknowledge, preparation, and tactics. There's pressure to constantly make progress and nearly everything in your game is somehow related to your goal to deal with the door of chaos.

Elona's about grinding and sandbox shenanigans. You can take as much time as you want, doing whatever you want. There are tons of features which you can spend hundreds of hours on or completely ignore. If you don't care about killing Zeome you can instead become the greatest performer or farmer North Tyris has ever seen.

I found it too convoluted to keep track, and since Ano made shit up and changed things so can I. I don't need to know the exact formula for how much how much xp is needed for each level, I can just make up the details keeping with the Last Remnant style. I'm also not including the cuckshed luchador quest line
The UI framework currently undergoing it's 6th overhaul and the sqlite localization system is fully functional. I've largely ditched my custom content manager after learning how to allow end users to rebuilt the precompiled content on demand, you can even use PNGs instead of BMPs which many have trouble formatting correctly.

This was much cooler in concept than execution.

Gravity Accel and Cheer Aside, I can't even think of any buffs general pets can use that affect allies. Magic levels so slowly grinding healing rain to pass it on feels like more effort than its worth too. Even paying with platinum, you get like 1 level for 3 PP, at 400% potential.
It is making me realize how good the single player trait is though. 20% speed doesn't sound like much but it makes a big dif. They all felt like vastly more powerful characters. Being solo also meant easy meter filling for core buffs, which are incredibly strong.

There is also Platinum Song (lots of defensive buffs in one spac), Bound in Blood (race-exclusive effects, so not very useful if you don't play as a imp or roran), the armor-related skills (but they only work if you have the correct equipment weight), and the Shield Parry (requires a shield to work).

I wish stamins grew faster/regenned faster/regenned more with levels/didn't have skills randomly fail when you have like 70 SP and they cost 45/ generally didn't fucking suck, especially early on.
Silly that you need to dedicated yourself to a specific god just to add 1 more SP every other turn. The new razor blade skill sucks ass purely because it takes stamina while the 'dart' spells take MP and MP is so much better.
