Here's a protip for you. Melonbooks blocked foreigners from their DL site. Another way to demostrate their discriminatory attitude against foreigners.

Just because of that, I recommend not to buy anything from them. There're other stores that will welcome you gaijin and your wallets:

Toranoana, DLsite, Getchu, Gyutto, DMM, et al.

Japs being racist, xenophobic and pedophilic rapists isn't news, I don't know why you're surprised. Call us when they start behaving like humans, that would be surprising.

I get it. I'm always a little pissed when I can't see something as basic as a DMM page, but if you actually gave enough of a shit you'd just pay for a VPN.

Don't know about Melonbooks but what you do on Rakuten or Amazon is definitely not buying e-books, even if they try to trick you into thinking so.

i just made this thread a few days ago and no one replied

.com is the DL sales site. you could buy anything from there with a western credit/debit card, but they blocked it anyway. unless you use a workaround you also lose access to all of the stuff you already bought.

https://www.melonbooks.co.jp/ebook/list.php?category_id=77
Not sure why, and it is a pain because as previously said you can't re-download anything you bought before, and you also lose all your melon points or whatever the fuck. I haven't tried buying anything off of it yet, so I have no idea if that's been messed with at all either.

This is what I get when I try to go into Melonbooks DL. Looks like they're under maintenance.

That doesn't explain the region-locking, though. I think they may have been coming under hacking/DDoS attacks from overseas IP addresses.

All the ebooks are DRM'd now, you need to use their shitty new reader for everything.
Can't wait for them to pull a Tora no Ana and dismantle the service leaving everyone unable to read their purchases anymore.
